Chapter 477

Mrs. Evans’s eyes were resolute as she gave the butler a slight nod.

The butler immediately found a nurse to collect Justin’s blood sample with a cotton swab.

He then looked at Justin.

Justin was about to speak when Mrs. Evans pulled out one of her own hairs and handed it over. "Do it now."

"Yes."

The butler hurried away.

Justin grabbed Mrs. Evans’s hand. "Mom, how can you believe such lies?"

His voice trembled. "How could I not recognize my own sister? I adored her when we were kids… She was kidnapped trying to save me… If she were standing right in front of me, I would know her instantly."

"So it can't be her… It's absolutely impossible… Mom, don't be fooled!"

Evelyn Ross looked at him coldly. "Justin, are you scared?"

Justin froze.

Evelyn stepped closer. "You're afraid that Jane, fighting for her life in that operating room, is the little sister you personally condemned to death! Isn't that right?!"

Justin staggered back.

His face flushed red. "What nonsense are you talking?! I told you, it can't be her!"

Crack—

A jade pendant was thrown to the ground by John.

John’s eyes were bloodshot. "Haven't you been searching for this pendant? Our sister wore it since she was a baby! How can you still not believe it?!"

Jane had once tried to discard the pendant when she didn't want to be recognized. John had retrieved it from the trash.

Justin picked up the pendant, examined it closely, and sneered. "John, you're pathetic! Knowing we're looking for the owner, you bring us a fake?!"

John was stunned. "A fake?"

His sister had worn this pendant since they found her. Even when their parents were gravely ill and they had no money for treatment, they never considered selling it.

But now, it was a fake?

John frowned. "Impossible! She's worn it since she was little!"

"Still lying?" Justin seized the excuse. "Mom, see? They're deceiving us! The person in that operating room cannot be our sister!"

Mrs. Evans remained silent.

Evelyn suddenly laughed coldly. "So the pendant is a fake. No wonder…"

Justin whirled to face her. "What do you mean?"

Evelyn said calmly, "Jason took Jane's pendant and told me to find him. This pendant was returned to Jane by Jason… No wonder it's a fake. The real one was given to you long ago! He knew all along that Jane was your sister!"

"You're lying!" Justin roared. "I don't believe it! Not a single word!"

Evelyn curled her lips in a mocking smile and said nothing more.

Justin felt himself crumbling under her gaze. "You can't fool me! The DNA test will take thirty minutes at most. Let's see what story you spin then!"

He guided Mrs. Evans to the side, but his eyes remained fixed on the operating room doors.

Memories of his first meeting with Jane surfaced—that inexplicable sense of familiarity…

Justin shook his head violently.

Impossible…

Jane absolutely could not be his sister!!

But he didn't notice his own red-rimmed eyes.

His gaze was glued to the operating room doors.

Bullying her had meant nothing to him then. Now, all he wanted was for her to survive…

Thirty minutes later, hurried footsteps approached.

The butler returned swiftly with the DNA test report, his expression grave.

Justin spoke first. "The results are in? Tell me! They were lying, right?!"

The butler hesitated for a moment before handing the report to Mrs. Evans.

Mrs. Evans’s hands trembled, as if this single sheet of paper held her destiny…

Justin snatched it away. "Mom, there's nothing to see! I told you it couldn't be her!"

He ripped open the report, his eyes darting straight to the results column—

He stood frozen, as if struck by lightning.

…99.99% probability of a biological mother-daughter relationship.
