Chapter 573

Evelyn Ross maintained a calm facade.

But inside, a storm was raging.

She took a deep breath and turned to look at Elder Castillo. "We're going now?"

Her tone was flat, as if she were merely going for a cup of tea.

Elder Castillo nodded. "Naturally, we must get to the bottom of this."

As soon as he finished speaking, Alexander Vance spoke up. "The Vance Group has a testing center. It's fully equipped, and the results are authoritative."

Evelyn raised an eyebrow at him.

It sounded like he was offering to help.

But she knew this man too well—he never did anything without a reason.

Sure enough, Nicole Sterling immediately exploded. "Go to your Vance territory? Do you think I'm a fool? You could alter the report however you like!"

Elder Castillo frowned slightly.

Anthony Castillo tentatively suggested, "What about the Evans family's facilities?"

Nicole sneered. "The Evans family and Evelyn Ross are in cahoots. They're even less trustworthy!"

Anthony was exasperated. "What about a public institution then?"

Nicole scoffed. "The four major families hold sway over New York. Can't public institutions be bribed?"

Anthony lost his temper. "This won't work, that won't work. What do you suggest?"

Nicole looked at Elder Castillo.

Elder Castillo pondered for a moment. "I will collect the samples tonight and send them to the Castillo family's overseas testing center."

Nicole was taken aback.

Alexander Vance spoke up at the right moment. "Do you need me to arrange a private jet?"

Nicole immediately became alert. "A private jet? So you can swap the samples mid-flight! Alexander Vance, you're despicable!"

Alexander frowned. "The Castillo family doesn't have a private jet domestically. Should I book a commercial flight then? I can arrange it."

Nicole shrieked, "You arranging it? You'd still find a way to tamper with it!"

Anthony was furious. "This is impossible! What do you want?!"

Nicole stared at Elder Castillo, her eyes flickering.

Elder Castillo sighed. "Very well. I will have personnel from the overseas lab fly here with the equipment. It's troublesome, but it's the most secure method."

Nicole immediately nodded. "Yes! That way, no one can interfere midway!"

Elder Castillo looked at Evelyn. "Transporting the equipment will take two days. Two days from now, come to the Castillo residence for the test."

Evelyn nodded. "Alright."

She paused, then looked at Anthony and Nicole. "What about the engagement banquet..."

Nicole snorted coldly.

Elder Castillo said gravely, "Matters of bloodline cannot be mistaken. We will proceed after everything is clear."

Nicole's face turned ashen. She glared fiercely at Evelyn. "You Chinese are indeed cunning. Rabbit, I underestimated you. But do you think delaying for two days will help? In two days, when the results come out, I will still marry Anthony Castillo!"

She took a step forward, lowering her voice. "And you—the price for deceiving the Castillo family is one you cannot afford."

With that, she turned and strode away.

Once outside the banquet hall, Nicole suddenly stopped.

"Wait!" she gritted her teeth. "Domestic tests can produce results in two hours! With all this fuss, I've given them two extra days for nothing!"

She stamped her foot in anger, but then a cold smile spread across her face.

"Evelyn Ross, do you think you can win?"

She took out her phone and dialed a number. "You can proceed. The Sterling Family side."

The person on the other end responded respectfully, "Yes."

Back inside the banquet hall.

Elder Castillo gave Evelyn a deep look before turning to leave.

Anthony immediately rushed over. "Evelyn! To think we might be relatives! If you're my cousin, that would be amazing!"

Natalie Castillo also exclaimed excitedly, "Yes, Evelyn! Push Nicole aside, and you can be my cousin! It's perfect!"

Evelyn looked at the two of them, the corner of her mouth twitching.

She rubbed her temples.

This lie was getting bigger and bigger.

How was she going to clean up this mess?

She looked at Alexander Vance.

Alexander gave her a reassuring look.

Just then, her phone rang.

Evelyn answered. The panicked voice of the butler came through the receiver. "Miss! Something has happened to Mr. Ashcroft!"
