Chapter 631

Everyone present found it difficult to watch.

They all knew how heavy the punch of the Boxing King was.

It was a force capable of bursting a sandbag.

A fist like that landing on a human head would make it explode like a watermelon.

Brains splattering.

Blood spraying.

Everyone instinctively closed their eyes.

Director Wright also closed his eyes.

He clenched his fists so tightly his nails dug into his palms, leaving deep marks.

Tears glistened at the corners of his eyes.

Then, he heard the dull thud.

"Thump!"

It was the sound of a fist hitting flesh.

Heavy.

Powerful.

Carrying destructive force.

Director Wright's heart sank violently.

It's over.

His son was finished.

Even if that punch wasn't to the head, a blow to the abdomen would be enough to shatter internal organs.

Leo Wright wouldn't survive.

Director Wright felt his breath catch, his heart gripped by an invisible hand, the pain nearly suffocating him.

Leo was his only son.

His father had died for the Special Operations Division.

He could die for the Special Operations Division too.

His son could as well.

But still, his heart ached.

Despair.

Regret.

Regret for letting his son join the Special Operations Division.

Regret for letting him walk this path.

Yet he knew he shouldn't regret.

This was their duty.

Their responsibility.

The choice of three generations of the Wright family.

Just as Director Wright was in despair, a cool, clear voice suddenly rang out.

"What are you doing?"

This voice...

Was it Leo?

He wasn't dead?

Director Wright's eyes snapped open.

On the dueling platform, a slender figure stood shielding Leo.

She had extended one hand, steadily catching the Boxing King's fist.

That hand was pale as jade, slender and long.

A stark contrast to the Boxing King's large, dark fist.

The woman stood tall and straight, appearing particularly petite before the Boxing King.

The Boxing King towered over her by a head, his frame twice as broad.

Standing together, they looked like an adult and a child.

Yet this seemingly fragile woman had effortlessly blocked the Boxing King's lethal strike.

Evelyn Ross looked down at Leo.

Leo was frowning as he looked at her.

"Get down."

His voice was weak, yet carried an undeniable firmness.

"This is my fight."

"We cannot lose."

Evelyn raised an eyebrow.

"You get down."

Her tone was flat.

"I'll continue."

Leo glared at her.

"How can you possibly manage?"

"You're just a new Inner Disciple of the Cortez Sect. What do you know about martial arts?"

"You..."

His words cut off abruptly.

Because Evelyn didn't waste words on him.

She simply gave a light wave of her hand.

The Boxing King was forced back two full steps before barely steadying himself.

Leo was stunned.

"You..."

He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Everyone below the platform was dumbfounded.

Grace Lorenz rushed forward anxiously.

"Evelyn, what are you doing?"

"Come down quickly!"

The next moment, Ethan Valentine's proud voice rang out.

"Allow me to introduce everyone."

"This is our Cortez Sect's First Senior Sister."

"She is also my younger sister, Grace Valentine."

After speaking, he looked at Leo.

"Alright, hurry up and concede."

"Don't embarrass yourself on the dueling platform any longer."

Though his words sounded disdainful, he had already moved to Leo's side, supporting his arm.

Helped up by Ethan, Leo still stared at Evelyn in disbelief.

He said nothing.

Ethan pulled him, walking out of the dueling area.

It counted as a concession.

Leo staggered over to Director Wright.

"Dad."

His voice was hoarse.

"I've shamed you."

Director Wright clenched his fists, his eyes rimmed red.

"No."

His voice choked.

"I am proud of you."

Leo's eyes brightened.

Father and son supported each other, turning their gaze back to the platform.

Having experienced this brush with loss and rebirth from death, their eyes held unconscious admiration and sincerity as they looked at Evelyn.

Evelyn didn't look at the people below.

She didn't know she had inadvertently won over Director Wright and Leo.

She was only focused on the Boxing King.

The Boxing King stared at her in shock.

"You are very strong."

He said in English.

Evelyn replied in English as well.

"Thank you."

The International Division representative beside them was bewildered.

He looked Evelyn up and down.

"You are the Cortez Sect's First Senior Sister?"

Evelyn looked at him coldly.

"Is there a problem?"

Cold sweat instantly broke out on the International Division representative's forehead.

"No, that's not what I meant..."

Evelyn didn't waste further words.

She looked at the Boxing King.

"If I defeat you, can Nicole Sterling stay?"

The Boxing King nodded.

The next second, Evelyn moved.

She shot towards the Boxing King like a released hare.

Evelyn's frame was small and slender; she could have taken Ethan's approach in the duel.

Using agile footwork, leading the Boxing King on a chase around the platform, waiting until he was exhausted and panting, then finding an opportunity to win.

But Evelyn didn't do that.

The Boxing King had shown respect to every competitor from the Special Operations Division.

This was evident from his repeated mercy towards Leo.

Therefore, Evelyn gave this opponent due respect.

Her method of attack was actually boxing and raw strength.

The Boxing King was stunned.

"First Senior Sister, you are too arrogant."

He threw a punch directly.

When he punched Leo earlier, he hadn't used full strength, which was why Evelyn had blocked it.

This punch, he used all his power.

Several times his body weight.

Evelyn's small frame was simply no match for him.

But he never expected.

"Thump!"

Their fists collided.

The Boxing King felt that the tiny fist before him was as immovable as a mountain.

Even with all his strength, he couldn't make the girl retreat a single step.

He had no way of knowing that Evelyn, though appearing slender, was incredibly resilient.

Coupled with enduring hardship from a young age, her strength was not insignificant.

Otherwise, how could she have caught the eye of the Cortez Sect's leader based on flexibility alone?

Seeing the Boxing King halted, Evelyn merely curved her lips in a slight smile.

She extended her other hand, swung it in a few circles in the air, then slapped it against her own fist.

"Thump!"

The Boxing King was forced back.

His feet scraped against the ground, sliding several steps before he could barely stabilize himself.

Finally, he managed to stop.

The Boxing King's eyes widened, staring at Evelyn in disbelief.

"Truly impressive."

He said.

"I want to challenge you again."

But Evelyn retracted her fist.

"You've lost."

Her tone was matter-of-fact.

The Boxing King was taken aback.

He looked down.

Only then did he realize he had unknowingly been pushed outside the dueling circle.

The Boxing King was momentarily dazed.

Then he clasped his fists towards Evelyn in a salute.

He turned and stepped down from the dueling platform.

Evelyn looked at the International Division representative.

"Still not leaving?"

Her voice was icy.

The International Division representative gritted his teeth.

Evelyn ignored him.

She turned and walked towards the prison cells holding the detainees.

She needed to speak with Nicole Sterling again.
