Chapter 663

"Hey, let go of me!"

Natalie Castillo was petite, like a child who hadn't fully grown, half a head shorter than Evelyn Ross.

Grabbed like this by Evelyn, she couldn't break free at all, and could only shout in a flustered rage.

She twisted her body desperately, trying to stop Evelyn from touching her hair. "Don't touch me! Evelyn Ross, what are you doing? Let go of me right now, do you hear me!"

Evelyn found her noisy and swatted her bottom. "Be quiet!"

Natalie froze completely.

She slowly turned her head, her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at Evelyn. "You... you actually spanked me!"

"Spanked is spanked. Do I need to pick a special day for it?" Evelyn continued trying to part her hair. "Keep moving and I'll do it again."

Natalie immediately stopped struggling, looking at her with a pitiful, wronged expression.

Evelyn pushed aside the hair at the back of Natalie's head and indeed found a long, thin scar.

The scar was very faint, almost invisible, clearly having existed for a long time.

Evelyn was momentarily stunned, then released her grip.

Natalie's eyes reddened, her voice choked with tears. "You actually dared to hit me."

Evelyn felt a strange sense of déjà vu.

Somehow, Natalie at this moment reminded her a bit of Chloe Davis. It was... somewhat cute?

The corner of Evelyn's mouth twitched, and she averted her gaze.

Natalie continued her accusation. "If you wanted to look, you could have just looked! Why did you have to spank me? My own mother never spanked me there!"

Evelyn remained silent.

Natalie let out a sobby hiccup. "My father never hit me either. I've never been hit in my entire life!"

Evelyn still said nothing.

"You actually hit me... you actually dared to hit me..."

Evelyn's head was starting to ache from her complaints. "I'm sorry, alright?"

"Alright."

Natalie agreed crisply and immediately lowered her head to continue cracking sunflower seeds. "Can we go in now? If we don't, the show will be over!"

Evelyn rolled her eyes.

Natalie's personality was written all over her face. Where was the cunning fox in her?

She nodded and was about to enter when she heard Cecilia Evans's voice. "Uncle, Victoria Lawrence has been devoted to you all these years. She never married, waiting just for you. If Auntie is truly gone, why not marry Victoria instead of that Evelyn Ross who just looks like her..."

She said with a smile, "Victoria is wonderful. Marrying her would boost the Vance Group's stock and improve its reputation. Few in the entire country are more famous for charity work than Victoria. She's the most suitable to be the lady of the Vance family."

Natalie cracked another seed and leaned close to Evelyn's ear, gossiping in a low voice. "Do you think Alexander Vance will agree?"

Evelyn rolled her eyes again. "No."

After all they had been through, if they didn't have that much trust, what was the point?

Sure enough, Alexander Vance's cold voice rang out. "Cecilia Evans, you've married out of the family. Stay out of Vance family affairs. Who I marry is not for you to decide."

Cecilia sounded hurt. "Uncle, I'm just concerned about you..."

Alexander sneered. "You'd be better off spending that time worrying about your brother. He's not getting any younger and still doesn't have a fiancée. You are his older sister, after all."

The living room fell silent.

Natalie let out a low "Wow." "Alexander Vance has quite the sharp tongue too."

Evelyn didn't respond, taking two steps forward.

The two of them entered the living room.

Everyone inside turned to look at them. Cecilia, seeing Evelyn, was first startled, then quickly realized who she was. "Miss Ross, is it? You look so much like my late aunt. If I weren't certain she had been buried, I'd almost think you were her."

Evelyn looked at her coldly. "So you're blind?"

Cecilia was left speechless.

She then pointed to the woman beside her. "You haven't met her, have you? Let me introduce you. This is one of the country's most prominent philanthropists. The foundation she established has saved countless children. She's very well-known..."

Evelyn was about to speak when Natalie, behind her, suddenly chimed in. "She is quite famous, but she can only rank second."

Everyone's eyes shifted to her.

Natalie stepped out from behind Evelyn, spat out a seed shell, and said with a grin, "When it comes to charity, there's another person in this country who's especially famous, though most people don't know who it is. Have you heard of Philanthropist N?"

Everyone was momentarily taken aback.

Natalie continued, "Philanthropist N has donated billions to charities over the years, but never leaves a name. You really haven't heard of them? That's a bit behind the times, isn't it?"
