Chapter 682

The three of them froze instantly.

This smell...

This aroma...

What on earth was it?

Richard Evans, Cecilia Evans, and Lillian Evans were people of the world.

They had lived lives of luxury since childhood, tasting every delicacy imaginable.

Yet at this moment, they were utterly speechless, stunned by this sudden, overwhelming fragrance.

It was dinnertime.

The Vance family had strict rules, advocating moderation at every meal, so naturally, they were hungry by mealtime.

Already famished, they were now assaulted by this incredibly enticing aroma of food.

Their eyes locked onto the dining table in unison.

The pork rib soup was clear and shimmering.

The steamed pork belly was translucent and glistening.

The meatballs were perfectly round and plump.

Even the simple stir-fried seasonal vegetables looked fresh, tender, and vibrant.

And there was a pot of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall.

All three swallowed involuntarily.

Evelyn Ross raised an eyebrow, ignoring them, and looked at Alexander Vance and Eleanor Vance.

"Alexander, Grandma, let's eat."

She then glanced at Fiona Vance.

Fiona immediately understood, turning to slip into the kitchen to eat her own portion.

She couldn't wait any longer!

Miss Evelyn's cooking was simply too divine!

The dining room suddenly fell quiet.

Evelyn and Alexander ate leisurely.

Eleanor Vance also ate a bit more than usual, feeling the food today was exceptionally delicious.

Cecilia Evans wanted to break the silence.

"Um..."

As soon as she opened her mouth, she couldn't help but swallow.

Saliva flooded her mouth uncontrollably.

It was utterly embarrassing.

Evelyn looked up at her.

"Hungry?"

Cecilia waved her hands frantically.

"Not hungry... gulp... really not..."

Richard and Lillian felt their daughter's behavior was too mortifying to watch.

They both turned their faces away simultaneously.

Richard forced a dry laugh.

"Heh heh, Grandma, the food here really smells... gulp..."

He also swallowed.

He had to; his mouth was practically overflowing with saliva.

So humiliating!

Richard's face flushed red.

"Um, I just remembered I have something to do. I'll be going now."

Once he left, Lillian and Cecilia immediately stood up.

"We should go too."

They had to go eat something, fast.

Smelling this aroma was driving them insane with hunger!

But Evelyn waved her hand.

"Don't go. Didn't you say you wanted to show filial piety to Grandma? Coming for the next meal?"

Lillian: "..."

Cecilia: "..."

With food smelling this good, who would dare come again!

The two fled as if escaping.

A slight smile touched Evelyn's lips.

Alexander gently squeezed her fingers, his eyes filled with amusement.

Eleanor Vance beamed at Evelyn.

"Evelyn, you always have a way! Finally, some peace. Come, let's eat!"

Evelyn nodded.

The three continued their meal.

As they ate, Evelyn suddenly paused.

"Did we forget something?"

Alexander thought for a moment.

"It seems like we forgot something. But what?"

Eleanor Vance: "We didn't forget anything, right? Eat, eat."

Just as the three finished their elegant meal, a clear voice sounded from upstairs.

"Huh? You ate? You ate without calling me?"

Evelyn turned her head sharply.

Natalie Castillo was walking down the stairs, still holding a handful of sunflower seeds, looking at them curiously.

"What's for dinner tonight?"

Evelyn: "..."

Natalie sniffed the air.

"Wow, so fragrant! What is that? It smells amazing! Hurry, bring my portion!"

Fiona had just finished eating in the kitchen.

Hearing this, her body stiffened.

Natalie had followed Evelyn here yesterday.

She was lively and sweet-tongued, and Fiona had already taken a liking to her.

Now, seeing Natalie's eager gaze full of expectation, Fiona suddenly felt a pang of guilt.

How could she have eaten the fourth portion of food Miss Evelyn prepared?

How could she not leave any for this lovely guest?

Fiona was about to speak when Evelyn cleared her throat lightly.

"Aunt Fiona, isn't there a portion left for Natalie in the kitchen? Please bring it out."

Fiona: "..."

Now, only the regular daily meals were left in the kitchen.

Not a single trace remained of the four dishes Evelyn had personally cooked.

But she immediately understood Evelyn's meaning and quickly responded.

"Of course, I'll bring it right away."

Natalie's eyes sparkled.

"Hurry, hurry! Mr. Vance, Mrs. Vance, your chef is incredible! This aroma... I've never smelled anything like it even at the Ashcroft residence! It's just too good!"

As she finished speaking, Fiona approached with the regular meal, feeling guilty, and placed it before Natalie.

Natalie, her eyes bright, picked up a bite with her chopsticks.

Then, she frowned in confusion.

"This taste... why is it different from what I smelled?"

Fiona's heart leaped into her throat.

Natalie looked directly at Evelyn, accusingly.

"You had a special feast, didn't you! I want some too!"

Evelyn: "Why should I?"

Natalie gritted her teeth.

"If you give me some, I'll tell you a secret about the Sterling Family!"
