Chapter 715

Lillian Evans and Cecilia Evans were both stunned.

They hurriedly called out, "Mrs. Vance! Mrs. Vance!"

Evelyn Ross and Alexander Vance rushed over.

Alexander pushed the two women aside and reached a trembling hand toward Mrs. Vance's nose.

He was afraid to check.

His finger hovered in the air, not daring to touch down.

His eyes gradually reddened, his vision blurring...

A cool, steady voice suddenly spoke. "Grandma is fine."

Alexander snapped back to reality and looked to the side.

Evelyn was pressing her fingers to Mrs. Vance's wrist, her expression focused.

Sensing his gaze, she glanced up at him and gave a slight nod.

Only then did Alexander place his fingers under Mrs. Vance's nose.

A warm breath brushed his fingertips.

His tense body relaxed abruptly.

Evelyn withdrew her hand. "Grandma just fainted. Her body is too weak right now. It's a normal reaction."

Alexander bent down, picked up Mrs. Vance, and quickly carried her toward the bedroom.

He gently laid the elderly woman on the bed, taking her frail hand and pressing it to his cheek.

Evelyn stood quietly behind him.

Lillian and Cecilia waited outside the door, not daring to leave.

Richard Evans and Robert Vance arrived upon hearing the news.

Richard's expression was normal.

Robert's eyes, however, reddened as he stared blankly at his mother on the bed.

Time ticked by.

Eleanor Vance slowly opened her eyes.

Alexander immediately leaned in. "Grandma."

Eleanor Vance smiled. "Did I fall asleep?"

Her gaze swept around the room.

Alexander nodded. "Yes, you fell asleep."

"That's good." Eleanor Vance reached out to touch his face. "Good boy, don't cry. Mom is here."

Alexander's body stiffened.

Eleanor Vance then looked at Robert Vance. "Baoxiang, Mom will always be with you from now on."

Alexander's expression changed slightly.

Evelyn was about to speak, but Richard's eyes lit up. He nudged Robert. "Dad, Grandma is calling you!"

Robert was momentarily stunned, then hurriedly pushed Alexander aside and leaned over the bed. "Mom, I'm here!"

Eleanor Vance squinted at him. "Huh? You're not Baoxiang. You're Baoxiang's grandfather, right?"

Robert was in his sixties, old enough to be Alexander's grandfather.

Robert's face froze.

Eleanor Vance shook her head again. "No, that's not right. Baoxiang, how did you get so old?"

Robert forced a smile. "Mom, I'm over sixty. Of course I'm old. You're over eighty too."

"I'm over eighty?" Eleanor Vance looked confused. "Aren't I only thirty?"

She looked at Alexander. "Whose child are you? You're so handsome."

Alexander's eyes reddened.

Eleanor Vance had previously suffered from Alzheimer's, but she had improved after taking Dr. Sterling's medication.

Why had it suddenly recurred?

He looked at Evelyn.

Evelyn's heart sank.

She stepped forward to examine Eleanor Vance's condition, gently opening her eyelids to check.

Richard immediately blocked her. "What are you doing? Grandma is old. Don't disturb her!"

Robert also chimed in. "Yes, my mother is at this age. Let her go peacefully. No more treatment!"

If the old lady only remembered him, the shares could smoothly transfer to the eldest branch.

The two of them pushed Evelyn away.

Evelyn frowned.

Alexander steadied her and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong with Grandma?"

Evelyn looked at Eleanor Vance.

The old woman was looking at her, her eyes calm like an ancient well.

After a moment of silence, Evelyn spoke. "The medication's effect has worn off."

Disappointment flashed in Alexander's eyes. "Can she still be treated?"

Evelyn sighed. "Grandma has at most two weeks left. If we continue treatment, she'll need injections. It will be very painful."

Alexander's eyes reddened. "Then we won't treat her."

Evelyn nodded.

Robert's face showed delight.

Alexander wanted to step forward again, but Eleanor Vance spoke. "Good child, why are you in my house? Go home now."

Alexander's steps halted.

Richard immediately looked at him. "Alexander, Grandma wants you to leave. She doesn't know you. Dad and I can take care of things here."

Alexander looked at the old lady.

The old lady smiled cheerfully at Richard. "Are you Baoxiang's son? Then you're my grandson?"

Richard hurriedly nodded. "Yes, Grandma, I'm your grandson."

The old lady nodded. "Good grandson, come, let Grandma look at you."

Richard leaned in closer.

Robert smiled and turned to Alexander. "What are you still standing there for? Do you want your grandmother to leave this world unsettled? Get out!"
