Chapter 730

Richard Evans was stunned.

He stared down at the surveillance feed on his phone screen, his fingertips trembling slightly.

What were those two women doing?

Were they actually loading suitcases into the car?

Julian Evans's voice came from beside him, laced with mockery. "Dad, are they running away? They've even packed their suitcases so thoroughly."

Richard's head snapped up, his face flushing red. "Impossible!"

He practically roared the word, his finger already pressing Linda's number. "They must have misunderstood! They think Alexander Vance is coming after us... They don't know I've already settled things with Alexander, that he won't pursue this... Yes, that must be it!"

He babbled incoherently, trying to convince himself.

The call went through and rang for a long time.

No one answered.

Margaret Evans stood to the side, arms crossed, a cold smirk curling her lips. "What's wrong? Can't get through? Too busy moving to answer your call?"

She paused, her voice turning even colder. "Why don't you try calling that driver of yours? Didn't you assign them a driver? And four maids... Richard, you were certainly attentive to your mistress."

Remembering the humiliating moment she and Julian were kicked out of the Vance family penniless, Margaret's anger flared anew.

She stared at Richard, her eyes like ice. "Call him! Go on, call him!"

Richard hung up Linda's call, his fingers shaking as he found the driver's number and dialed.

This time, it connected quickly.

Richard immediately yelled, "Tell Linda not to pack anything! Drive the car and come pick me up right now!"

The driver was silent for a moment before replying calmly, "Sir, we're not coming to pick you up."

"Then where are you going?"

"Moving."

"Don't you dare move!" Richard's voice cracked. "Give the phone to Linda! Now! Immediately!"

The driver chuckled softly. "Madam said she won't take the call. We have things to do, goodbye, sir."

"You dare hang up on me!" Richard screamed hoarsely. "I pay your salary! You have to listen to me! Drive the car over here! Bring those bitches to me!"

On the other end of the line, the driver fell silent for a few seconds.

When he spoke again, his voice held clear derision. "Sir, it's true you used to pay my salary. I should thank you for supporting my family of three."

Richard was dumbfounded. "...What?"

"I said, thank you for supporting my family of three before. Now that you're broke, we won't be a burden on you anymore. Goodbye."

Beep—beep—

The dial tone sounded.

Richard stood frozen, phone in hand.

He looked down sharply and reopened the surveillance feed.

On the screen, the driver got out of the driver's seat, looked up directly at the camera, and casually waved.

Then, he walked to the trunk, shoved the last two suitcases inside, and closed the lid.

He turned and walked toward Linda.

He reached out and naturally wrapped his arm around Linda's waist.

Linda leaned into his embrace.

Cecilia Evans stood nearby, giving the driver a sweet smile.

The driver said something, and all three turned their heads to look at the camera.

Then, they waved in unison.

Their movements were synchronized, as if rehearsed.

Then, they opened the car doors and got in.

The engine started.

The car slowly drove out of the camera's view.

"No—!" Richard suddenly jumped up, screaming madly at the phone screen. "Get out! Get out of the car! Linda! You adulteress! You betrayed me long ago! Bastard! Son of a bitch!"

He trembled with rage, his eyes bloodshot.

Margaret and Julian watched coldly, finding the scene both ridiculous and laughable.

Julian sighed and stepped forward. "Dad, do you need any other help?"

After all, this was his biological father. He couldn't completely abandon him.

But Richard grabbed Julian's arm like a lifeline. "Son! Help your father!"

Julian looked at him. "I can rent you an apartment, give you a basic monthly allowance..."

"I don't want that!" Richard interrupted, his eyes wild. "You drive! Take me to chase them! Catch them! I don't believe... I don't believe your Aunt Linda really betrayed me! Cecilia wouldn't either... They must have been kidnapped by that driver! Yes! It must be a kidnapping!"

Julian: "..."

Even now, he was still deceiving himself.

Julian gave a low laugh and shook his head, about to push Richard's hand away.

But Margaret suddenly spoke. "Take him."

Julian was startled and looked at his mother.

Margaret stared at Richard, her gaze icy. "Take him to see it with his own eyes. Let him give up hope."

Julian was silent for a moment, then nodded.

He had inherited the assets left by Eleanor Vance, which included a car.

He walked to the parking lot and started the car.

Just as he was about to ask Richard which direction to chase, his phone vibrated.

It was a message from Alexander Vance.

An address.

The note was brief: [Linda is here.]
