Chapter 739

The man opposite her frowned, his voice low. "Miss Evans, liquidating a property takes time. If you're in a hurry to sell, the price will likely be heavily discounted. Are you absolutely sure about this?"

Cecilia Evans's expression darkened. "I'm very sure."

The man asked again, "Which country are you planning to go to?"

"Any country is fine, as long as I can leave here quickly!"

The man nodded. "Understood. I'll notify you once the paperwork is processed."

"Fine."

As soon as Cecilia finished speaking, the man collected the property deed and turned to leave.

She had just let out a sigh of relief when she turned around and bumped into Aaron Truman standing behind her. Her heart leaped into her throat, and she instinctively pressed a hand to her chest. "What are you doing here?"

Aaron frowned, studying her, then looked toward the retreating figure in the distance. Hesitantly, he asked, "Who was that just now? What were you talking about?"

Cecilia immediately lowered her gaze. "It was nothing. Someone asking for directions. How did you find me here?"

Aaron explained, "I called you several times, but you didn't answer. I was worried something had happened, so I used the phone's location tracking to find you."

Cecilia's face changed. "You installed a tracker on my phone?"

"I was concerned for your safety," Aaron said carefully, reaching out to take her arm.

Cecilia immediately shook off his hand.

This man was disgusting. He had colon cancer and still dared to touch her. Wasn't he afraid of passing the cancer cells to her?

She took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the disgust in her heart.

Aaron, however, mistook her reaction for anger and quickly apologized. "Cecilia, I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to activate the tracker without your permission. But I truly did it out of concern for you."

Concern for her?

He was probably afraid that once she found out he had cancer, she would run away and no one would be left to take care of him.

Cecilia sneered inwardly, but her expression remained taut. She gave a faint nod. "I understand. My phone died."

Aaron finally relaxed a little, but he couldn't help glancing again in the direction the man had left. Worried, he asked, "Are you really okay? That person didn't seem like someone asking for directions..."

"He was asking for directions," Cecilia cut him off, forcing a smile. "By the way, what did you need to see me about today?"

Aaron sighed. "Didn't I tell you yesterday that I urgently need money and want to sell the house? But I can't find the property deed anywhere. Did you put it away?"

Cecilia's eyes flickered, and she quickly denied it. "I didn't take it..."

Aaron was taken aback. "You didn't? I've searched the entire house and couldn't find it."

Cecilia's heart tightened. She then linked her arm through Aaron's and said softly, "Maybe you overlooked it. Let's go home first. I'll help you look for it."

Aaron nodded.

The two got into the car and headed for the Truman residence.

On the way, Aaron remembered something else. "By the way, have you withdrawn that two hundred thousand dowry?"

Cecilia lowered her eyes, her tone hesitant. "Aaron, I was just about to talk to you about that. I invested that two hundred thousand in a fiSterlingcial product. I can't withdraw it right now. How about... you borrow some from your older brother first? He's so wealthy; two hundred thousand is nothing to him."

Sebastian Truman was rich. He could easily produce two hundred thousand.

Why was he fixated on her little bit of money?

Once she sold the house and added this two hundred thousand, she could disappear far away.

Two million might not be a huge amount abroad, but if she lived frugally, she could have a stable life.

Thinking this, a glint of calculation flashed in Cecilia's eyes.

Aaron didn't suspect a thing and nodded. "Alright, I understand."

The car soon arrived at the Truman residence.

As soon as they got out of the car, Aaron received a call from an international medical institution regarding Cecilia's condition. He immediately said to her, "Cecilia, I need to handle some work. You go inside first."

"Okay."

Cecilia shot him a glance and turned to walk toward the house.

Before entering, she still overheard Aaron's lowered voice. "Yes, it's colon cancer... There's a treatment plan? That's great! Money is not an issue. We'll treat it!"

Cecilia's steps faltered, her eyes turning icy cold.

It really was colon cancer!

And he said money wasn't a problem... This kind of illness was basically incurable. Was he planning to drain their entire savings? What would she do after he died?

He kept saying he loved her. Was this how he loved her?

Cecilia let out a cold laugh. Thankfully, she had already taken the property deed out for mortgage. Otherwise, if she waited until the end, there probably wouldn't be anything left.

Meanwhile, Alexander Vance had people monitoring the Truman family's movements. Cecilia Evans's every action was under his watch.

Looking at the report Thomas Watson handed him, Alexander was puzzled. "Cecilia Evans stole the property deed to mortgage it? And she's applying for a passport to go abroad?"

Thomas nodded. "Yes. She seems to be in a great hurry, willing to accept a very low price to sell quickly. Is she going abroad for treatment?"

Alexander shook his head. He couldn't figure it out either.

Even if he racked his brains, he would never guess that Cecilia mistakenly believed the medical report was Aaron's, completely unaware that she herself was the one who was sick.

Alexander pondered for a moment, then instructed, "Pass this information on to Sebastian Truman and Aaron Truman."
