Chapter 755

Evelyn Ross understood everything in an instant.

Combining the story Mia Truman had told and the information from the recent conversation, Evelyn immediately grasped the situation.

This Liam Cooper had been maintaining the persona of a rich heir all along.

But all of Liam's money came from Mia Truman.

His so-called girlfriend from humble origins was completely unaware of this, believing Liam had made it on his own.

As for why Mia could frequently appear by Liam's side, it was because Liam had told his girlfriend that Mia was the child of their family's servant.

Evelyn let out a scornful laugh.

She suddenly felt like she had seen it all.

In this world, a man with such audacious nerve was truly a first for her.

Everyone present was sharp.

When Evelyn scoffed, the others gradually came to their senses, understanding the implication.

Natalie Castillo's eyes widened in disbelief.

Sebastian Truman frowned deeply, his gaze turning to Mia.

He hadn't expected his sister to be used so thoroughly.

He pressed his lips together.

Mia was still in a state of confusion.

She looked at Liam and asked, "Liam, did you say that? I clearly..."

Before she could finish, Liam stood up, cutting her off. "What are you doing here? If you have something to say, let's talk outside!"

He patted Chloe Raymond's shoulder reassuringly and then walked over.

His eyes swept over the people behind Mia.

They all looked affluent and well-bred, likely naive rich heirs just like Mia.

Mia often hung out with these friends, so he was used to seeing them.

He pulled Mia aside and immediately lowered his voice in a reprimanding tone. "What are you doing here? And what were you about to say just now?"

Tears welled up in Mia's eyes. "Liam, why did you tell your girlfriend I'm your servant's daughter?"

Liam sighed. "I didn't want her to find out about our relationship. If she did, she'd call you a mistress... Mia, I know this is unfair to you, but I don't want you to be insulted either..."

Mia lowered her head.

During the car ride over, Natalie's constant chatter had made her understand a few things.

They all said Liam was brainwashing her, mentally controlling her.

Was it like this now?

Clearly, Liam was the one in the wrong, yet he could speak so righteously, making it impossible for her to blame him.

Because Chloe was his girlfriend.

Mia clenched her fists, unable to hold back her question. "Fine, I won't talk about that. I just want to ask you, was Diana arranged by you?"

At this, Liam raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about? How could I arrange Diana? Didn't Chloe just say she arranged it? Did it cause you any harm? Mia, I'm sorry. Chloe comes from a small place and doesn't know any better. Please forgive her."

Mia stared blankly at Liam.

She bit her lip hard, finally speaking after a long pause. "Do you know what she did to me?"

"What could she do? At most, she bribed Diana to put something in your food. What else?"

Liam was dismissive.

Mia spoke numbly. "She had Diana tamper with my brake pads. I almost died in a car accident!"

Hearing this, Liam froze.

Then he grabbed her arm anxiously. "Really? Are you okay? Mia, are you hurt?"

Seeing his apparent concern, Mia finally felt the grievance, her eyes turning red. "I'm fine. Luckily, someone saved me. But she..."

Liam breathed a sigh of relief. "It's good you're okay. If something really happened to you, I would never forgive her!"

Hearing this, Mia relaxed slightly and continued. "I knew it wasn't you... You definitely wouldn't want anything to happen to me."

"Of course not. You have to know, you're the one I love most. How could I ever want to see you hurt? Remember, when you were in trouble back then, I risked my life to save you!"

Liam's voice was slow, carrying a hypnotic quality.

Mia believed him in her dazed state.

She lowered her head, her eyes red. "Liam, I knew you wouldn't treat me like that..."

Thankfully, it wasn't him.

Fortunately, it wasn't him.

A flicker of triumph passed through Liam's eyes.

These sheltered heiresses from wealthy families, who had never seen the harsh realities of the world or the darkness in people's hearts, were so easy to fool.

He just said a few words, and she believed him.

Really...

Why didn't she die?

If she had died, that huge accidental insurance payout would have been his!

He wouldn't have to pretend to be a rich heir anymore; he'd be a genuine one. Not like now, where he could only use Mia's credit card!

Thinking this, Liam lowered his gaze and spoke directly. "Mia, do you have any money on you? Chloe was so out of line. I need to buy her a bag to make sure she doesn't do this again."

Mia shook her head. "My brother took all my money to manage for me. I only have my credit card now. You can just use that."

Liam's expression darkened at these words.

Every time they went out, using the credit card, and having to use hers, felt like being under her surveillance.

It proved she didn't truly love him; it was all just an act!

Thinking this, Liam's face turned sour. "Fine. Is there anything else? If not, I need to get back to Chloe. Look, she's glancing over here again!"

As the "other woman," Mia was most afraid and guilty when facing Chloe. Hearing this, she immediately lowered her head. "Then... then you should go."

Liam walked straight back to Chloe Raymond.

After he left, Evelyn and the others approached Mia.

Evelyn had brushed past Liam as he walked away.

Mia looked at Sebastian. "Brother, you heard him, right? That person wasn't arranged by Liam. So, this has nothing to do with him."

Natalie asked, exasperated. "Miss Truman, where is your brain? That shallow lie just now—you really couldn't see through it?"

Mia hung her head.

Natalie continued. "Are you really content being the other woman?"

At this, Mia clenched her fists.

Sebastian spoke from the side. "She was made into the other woman."

They all turned to look at him.

Sebastian explained slowly. "When Mia and Liam got together, Liam lied and said he didn't have a girlfriend. She only found out about Chloe Raymond after they were already involved. But by then, Mia trusted Liam completely and never doubted him..."

This made everyone's breathing grow heavier.

Natalie exclaimed, "Mia Truman, he's a complete scumbag!"
