Chapter 771

Evelyn had initially believed the conversation between Chloe and Sebastian.

She truly thought it was all Chloe's doing.

But when Chloe spoke about the setup, her words were full of holes.

If not for the Sterling Family's prophecy, if she hadn't arrived at the Truman mansion in time, Sebastian would have already left.

He wouldn't have been hit by Mia's car.

There was definitely something wrong here.

Just as Evelyn thought this, Chloe laughed.

"Someone told me to do it."

"Who?"

Evelyn immediately pressed.

Chloe looked at her.

"I don't know."

"All I know is, I was lurking around Mia, waiting for an opportunity."

"But every day, besides humiliating her, I couldn't get close to Sebastian at all."

"Even that maid at the Truman house, I only had a chance to bribe her after Mia brought her out."

"I didn't even know what to do."

"But a few days ago, someone called me."

"They said if I could make Mia's car malfunction, make her appear at the main gate at ten o'clock, I could kill Sebastian."

Chloe glanced at Sebastian and sneered.

"Looks like your family has quite a few enemies."

Sebastian knew it was a sarcastic remark and didn't respond.

Evelyn immediately asked.

"So you had the maid tamper with Mia's car."

"And then, with Liam, you watched the time and lured him into calling Mia."

"Making her come downstairs and drive toward the gate?"

Chloe nodded.

"Right."

Evelyn looked at Sebastian.

"So, I was also a part of their plan?"

"If not for that prophecy about dying at ten, I wouldn't have blocked you at the gate."

"If you had already left, this car accident wouldn't have happened."

Sebastian pursed his lips.

"Logically, yes."

Evelyn frowned.

Things were getting more and more complicated.

It was a bit beyond imagination.

She couldn't figure it out.

Was all this the Sterling Family's doing?

If it was the Sterling Family, did they even scheme against her?

It was Natalie who told her Sebastian would have a car accident at ten.

Natalie used one opportunity to have the Sterling Family tell Sebastian's fortune.

Was Natalie scheming against her?

Evelyn handed Chloe over to Sebastian.

She took out Chloe's phone from her pocket.

"What's the phone number of the person who contacted you?"

Chloe spoke.

"How could I possibly remember."

"Search back. It was about five days ago, around two in the afternoon."

Evelyn scrolled through the phone.

She saw a string of numbers that was both unfamiliar and familiar.

Unfamiliar, because it was just a string of digits.

Familiar, because...

Evelyn immediately took out her own phone and opened her call log.

A call from a few days ago showed the exact same string of numbers.

She remembered clearly.

The person who called her from this number was... Scarlett!

Evelyn's pupils contracted.

It really was someone from the Sterling Family.

She was frowning in thought when Mia and Natalie caught up.

Mia saw the group, then saw Chloe, and was stunned.

"What's wrong with her?"

Sebastian said calmly.

"She's the mastermind."

Mia was dumbfounded.

"What?"

She looked at Chloe in shock.

How was that possible!

Natalie was also stunned, exclaiming.

"Holy crap?! How is that possible!"

Her shocked expression didn't seem fake.

After all, Chloe seemed like just a gold digger.

And she also seemed like a victim, being played by Liam.

Who would have thought she was the mastermind?

Natalie swallowed.

Evelyn looked at her.

"Come with me for a moment."

Natalie immediately nodded.

Before following, she gave Alexander and Sebastian a smug glance.

Hah, you two men can't compare to me, right?

See, I just got here, and Evelyn is already pulling me aside for a private talk!

Natalie stuck out her tongue, made a face.

She followed Evelyn to the other side.

Making sure no one around could hear, Evelyn spoke.

"I'm asking you again."

"Are you sure the Sterling Family's prophecies are always correct?"

Natalie's expression was devout.

"I can tell you, I'm sure!"

"Absolutely sure and certain!"

"Because this is something everyone in the Sterling Family tacitly agrees on."

"The Sterling Family's prophecies have never been wrong!"

"Do you think it's because you stopped Sebastian that he almost had a car accident?"

"But think about it, is there a possibility."

"If you hadn't stopped Sebastian, he would have had a car accident on the highway?"

"If we didn't stop him, let him get on the highway, we wouldn't know where he would have the accident!"

Evelyn stared at Natalie.

"But, it was Scarlett who designed the ten o'clock timing."

Natalie was stunned.

"What? How is that possible!"

Evelyn was about to say something when Natalie suddenly spoke.

"I understand what's going on!"

"Tell me."
