Chapter 805
Alistair Montgomery's features were sharp and deep-set, with a distinctly foreign look that clearly wasn't of Chinese descent.
Beneath his thick brows were deep brown eyes, and his chin was adorned with a neatly trimmed short beard. His gaze now rested on Evelyn Ross, carrying a probing intensity, as if he were trying to recognize something.
Joanna Sterling stepped forward, breaking the silence. "Your Majesty Montgomery, hello. I am Joanna Sterling."
Alistair turned to her, a look of realization dawning. "So it's you. I didn't expect you to come to the United States after leaving Aldoria. How have you been all these years in the US?"
Joanna gave a slight nod. "Well enough."
She stepped aside and introduced Evelyn Ross and Natalie Castillo to Alistair.
Sebastian Truman had initially intended to speak, but seeing an old acquaintance present, he silently took a seat to the side.
When he heard Natalie was a renowned doctor, Alistair's gaze lingered on her for a moment. "A doctor of traditional medicine so young?"
Natalie quickly waved her hands. "No, no, I'm not a doctor. I specialize in poisons. I'm better at using poison to counteract poison. If you have any illness, I can use my toxins to kill the viruses in your body."
The explanation was a bit convoluted.
It was unclear if Alistair understood. He simply glanced at Joanna, then at Evelyn, before shaking his head slightly and sitting down on the sofa. He extended his wrist to Natalie.
Natalie began to take his pulse seriously.
Evelyn, meanwhile, drew a blood sample and began conducting tests and analysis nearby.
As Dr. Sterling, she had handled countless difficult and complex cases. But infertility... this was truly a blind spot in her knowledge.
After a series of tests, all indicators showed Alistair was in good health, with no abnormalities.
Over there, Natalie finished taking the pulse and reached a conclusion. "Your Majesty Montgomery, did you visit volcanic regions or soak in high-temperature hot springs for extended periods when you were younger?"
Alistair immediately nodded. "Yes, I once conducted an expedition deep into a volcanic zone."
Natalie understood. "The high-temperature environment affected your reproductive system. It's not about sperm quality, but their ability to fuse with an egg." She paused, seeming to choose her words carefully. "There's nothing wrong with your body. Your sperm should be normal. But they've become... very selective now. If you want an heir, you might need to expand the number of consorts. Eventually, one will be suitable for you..."
Alistair smiled bitterly. "My harem already has over a hundred consorts."
Natalie blinked. "Then you'd need to... visit one every three days to ensure each consort sees you at least once a year. That's not easy."
Alistair: "...I just want one child. A girl would be fine too. The throne must have an heir. Do you have any other methods?"
Natalie stroked her chin. "I can only try to regulate your body. But I can't guarantee it will work."
Alistair's eyes dimmed.
Sebastian spoke up at the right moment. "There's an old saying in the United States: good things come to those who wait. Perhaps your child is waiting for you in the coming years. That child will surely be the most outstanding."
A bitter smile touched Alistair's lips.
At this moment, he had shed the sharp, domineering aura of a monarch. He appeared refined and gentle, just an ordinary man desperately longing for a child.
In the end, Joanna and Evelyn didn't say much more. They paid their respects to Alistair and left the room.
Since they couldn't solve his problem, they naturally couldn't make any requests.
After leaving the room, Natalie looked at Evelyn. "What were you staring at him for earlier? Do you want to marry him and bear his child?"
"Don't talk nonsense."
Evelyn's tone was unusually displeased. She then asked, "Don't you think that King Montgomery looks somewhat familiar?"
Natalie and Joanna exchanged a glance, both coughing simultaneously. Their eyes shifted to behind Evelyn.
Evelyn turned around and saw Alexander Vance standing there.
Alexander approached, his deep gaze settling on her face. "Who looks familiar?"
"Montgomery," Evelyn stated directly. "I feel like I've seen him somewhere before."
"On TV, probably. He's a monarch of a small country, but he appears in the news often enough," Natalie said, popping a pill into her mouth.
Joanna asked, "What are you eating?"
"Qi-tonifying pills."
Joanna: "Are you deficient in qi and blood?"
"My qi and blood are perfectly fine!" Natalie sighed. "I was in a hurry when I left today and didn't bring any snacks. I'm just eating these pills to curb my craving."
Joanna: "..."
Evelyn shook her head and followed the two of them as they walked out.
Meanwhile, at the Valentine residence.
Mr. Valentine was holding little Chloe Davis, watching TV.
Mr. Valentine was accustomed to watching the news. Of course, given his status, he no longer needed to rely on news channels for information.
It was just a habit formed over many years.
The TV screen was broadcasting news about Montgomery's visit to the United States. In the footage, Alistair was dressed in a suit, his expression solemn.
Mr. Valentine watched quietly. The little one in his arms suddenly stiffened.
She stretched out her chubby little finger toward the television and called out clearly, "Daddy!"
