Chapter 629
Leo Wright stepped directly onto the platform.
His gaze was resolute as he looked at King, the boxing champion.
His eyes held the determination of someone burning their bridges.
Leo had misunderstood Ethan Valentine's meaning.
He thought Ethan meant that even if they lost the match and handed the person over to the International Division, there would still be other ways to interrogate the prisoner.
But Leo didn't see it that way.
He had to keep Nicole Sterling here today.
Otherwise, it would be a disgrace to the Special Operations Division.
Ten people, using a war of attrition, couldn't even defeat King the boxing champion.
If word got out, they would have taken advantage of the situation and still lost their dignity.
Today, they had to preserve either their face or their integrity.
Leo took a deep breath and charged directly at King.
Unfortunately, the disparity in their strength was too great.
Before Leo's fist could even touch his opponent, King sidestepped and avoided it, landing a punch squarely on his shoulder.
A piercing pain shot through him instantly.
His left shoulder felt like it was about to shatter.
Leo staggered back two steps.
Steadying himself, he tried to move his shoulder.
It was dislocated.
He gritted his teeth, grabbed his arm with his other hand, and gave it a forceful wrench.
A sharp crack sounded as the joint snapped back into place.
Cold sweat instantly soaked through his back.
King looked at him and smiled.
"You are not my opponent. Surrender."
He spoke in English.
Having been in the Special Operations Division for so many years, Leo naturally understood English.
He stared at King and replied in English, "Surrender? Impossible."
King raised an eyebrow, showing a look of surprise, then gave a thumbs-up.
"You are brave."
Leo wasted no more words and charged forward again.
The two were soon locked in a fierce struggle.
Leo was completely on the defensive, being overpowered.
Everyone watching from below could see it.
Even Grace Lorenz, who knew nothing about martial arts, could tell Leo couldn't win.
A sense of despair began to spread.
Daniel Clementson's eyes flickered.
He suddenly shouted toward the platform, "Brother Liu! Stop fighting! You can't win! Preserve your strength!"
Leo was fully focused on fighting King.
The shout broke his concentration.
King seized the opportunity and landed another punch on his shoulder.
The same spot.
An even more intense wave of pain washed over him.
Leo stumbled and fell to one knee, his face pale.
Daniel immediately yelled, "Brother Liu, surrender!"
Leo clenched his jaw, staring fixedly at his shoulder.
King showed some humanity and didn't press the attack.
He stood a short distance away and said, "Surrender. The gap in our strength is too great."
Leo shook his head.
"I won't surrender!"
King frowned.
Leo took a deep breath, enduring the excruciating pain as he stood up.
He prepared to reset his dislocated shoulder again.
Watching this, Daniel's eyes reddened.
"Brother Liu, surrender! If your shoulder gets hit again, it could lead to habitual dislocation! Your arm will be ruined!"
Leo whipped his head around and glared at him angrily.
"You shut up!"
Daniel lowered his head and sighed.
Marcus Wright, who was nearby protecting his waist, instinctively glanced at Daniel.
Evelyn Ross saw from Marcus's eyes that he had already begun to suspect Daniel.
She looked back at the fighting platform.
Just as Leo's hand touched his shoulder, the head of the International Division spoke to King.
"What are you waiting for? Finish the match in one go. Don't waste time."
King sighed and looked at Leo.
"You are an opponent I respect. But my master won't allow me to give you any more time. I'm sorry."
Without waiting for Leo to reset his bone, King launched an attack.
Leo was startled and immediately rolled to the side.
But he accidentally landed on his injured arm.
The intense pain slowed his movements for a split second.
The next moment, King grabbed his injured arm and lifted him into the air.
"Do you surrender?"
Held aloft, Leo gritted his teeth.
"No!"
King forcefully threw him toward the edge of the platform.
But Leo grabbed King's shoulder with his other hand and pulled himself back.
King sighed.
"Why do you insist on this?"
Leo stared at him.
"For me, there is only fighting to the death, not surrender! The honor of the Special Operations Division cannot be tarnished!"
King was momentarily stunned.
The head of the International Division spoke again.
"King, no mercy."
King's pupils contracted.
He finally sighed and looked at Leo.
"I'm sorry."
With that, he slammed Leo violently onto the ground.
Thud!
Leo felt as if his body had been run over by a truck.
The excruciating pain nearly made him lose consciousness.
