Chapter 710
Richard Evans let out a scornful laugh.
"You think your Aunt Lillian is after my money? You unfilial son, are you afraid I'll leave everything to Cecilia after I die? How dare you say such a thing."
Hearing this, Lillian Evans secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Richard continued, "But if it's really necessary, your Aunt Lillian will definitely sign!"
A cold smile curled at the corner of Julian Evans's lips. "If she dares to sign, I'll admit she's not after your money. I'll even respectfully call her 'Aunt Lillian.' How about that?"
Richard's eyes lit up. "And then you'll obediently come back and apologize to me?"
Julian stared at him. "That's right!"
Richard scoffed. "I knew you couldn't make it on your own out there! If you and your mother are willing to come back and apologize, I might still let you back in. It's just a contract, isn't it? Your Aunt Lillian will definitely sign!"
He turned to Lillian. "Lillian, let's draft a contract right now. Let them see your sincerity!"
Lillian: !!
Lillian bit her lip. "But..."
Julian sneered. "What? Don't dare to sign? Lillian Evans, let me remind you, all Vance family contracts are reviewed by professional lawyers. Future asset division will be strictly executed according to the contract!"
He took a step forward, his gaze piercing into Lillian. "So, do you dare to sign?! My mother dared to leave with nothing in the divorce. Do you dare?!"
Lillian bit her lip harder, her eyes narrowing.
She looked at Cecilia Evans in panic.
Cecilia immediately gave her a meaningful look.
Understanding instantly, Lillian raised her voice. "I dare! My feelings for your father are genuine. How can they be measured by money?!"
Richard laughed triumphantly. "Julian, did you hear that? She dares!"
Julian was slightly taken aback, not expecting Lillian to agree.
Just then, Cecilia spoke up. "Dad, don't let Julian lead you astray. Weren't you going to get a divorce today?"
She sighed and looked at Julian. "Julian, if you want to come home, just come back. There's no need to use my mother as an excuse. Even if Dad divorces your mother and marries mine, my mother won't be domineering like yours. She will treat you well."
These words made Julian's pupils contract. "You're divorcing my mother today?"
Richard scoffed. "That's right! Since you've all moved out and talked about divorce, let's get the paperwork done today!"
Richard thought his move was brilliant.
He didn't really want a divorce...
No matter how flawed Margaret Evans was, she had given him a son. Although her temperament wasn't as gentle as Lillian's, and she wasn't completely devoted to him, she did take meticulous care of his daily life.
If Margaret could accept Lillian and her daughter after this incident, then this whole drama wouldn't be for nothing!
Richard was thinking beautifully.
He was certain Julian wouldn't dare to let his mother get divorced.
After all, once divorced, they would get nothing!
He looked at Julian with full confidence, only to see the other man excitedly pull out his phone. "Good, you're finally willing to divorce! I'll notify my mother right now!"
Richard: "?"
He frowned, his earlier good mood instantly evaporating.
How could this be?
This shouldn't be happening...
Julian must be bluffing him. Besides, with Margaret's limited intelligence, how could she dare to get a divorce? Moving out of this house was already the height of her courage!
As he was thinking, Julian had already made the call. "Mom, Dad agreed to go to City Hall today... Good? Then meet at City Hall. I'll be there."
Hanging up, Julian looked at him. "Let's go. Don't keep my mother waiting."
Richard immediately frowned deeply.
He let out a cold laugh. "Fine, let's go! Lillian, come with us!"
Lillian nodded quickly.
Richard studied Julian's expression, seeing no reaction, and spoke again. "Bring your documents. After I get divorced, I can marry you right away! Convenient!"
Lillian's eyes brightened. "Okay."
But Julian directly interrupted. "I'm afraid that won't be possible."
Richard immediately smiled.
See, the little brat couldn't keep up the act...
He knew Julian wouldn't let him divorce Margaret. If they really divorced, he and his mother would have no connection to the Vance family at all!
He looked down at Julian condescendingly. "What? Regretting it now? Let me tell you, it's too late! Unless you kneel down, apologize properly, and then go marry that Victoria Lawrence, you and your mother can forget about ever setting foot in the Vance house again!"
Lillian beside him grew anxious. "Richard, you're not going to marry me?"
Richard looked at her. "It's just a piece of paper, Lillian. Haven't you always said you didn't care about that?"
Lillian was left speechless.
Richard turned back to Julian. "Well, have you made up your mind?"
Julian almost rolled his eyes.
How had he ever been afraid of this father before? Looking at him now, the man was just ordinary, overly confident, and utterly repulsive!
