Chapter 179
chapter179
Audrey hadn t realized what was happening until
Bang!
The door slammed open violently.
The loud crash instantly sent the livestream chat into an uproar.
What was that sound?
Did someone just kick the door open?
Is Audrey okay?!
Audrey staggered backward, nearly losing her balance.
Before she could even react, a furious voice rang out.
Who gave you the right to kick the door open?
Who do you think you are, Audrey?!
Audrey looked up calmly and saw Velimia standing in front of her, her expression cold and domineering.
Before Velimia could continue scolding her, Audrey suddenly stepped forward and gently pushed something into her mouth.
A pastry.
Velimia froze.
Audrey smiled faintly and said softly, You ve been arguing for so long. The pastry will go cold if you don t eat it now.
Velimia hadn t expected that at all.
Instinctively, she began chewing.
To her surprise, the pastry tasted incredibly good sweet but not overwhelming, exactly to her liking. Before she realized it, she had finished the entire thing.
She even knows my preferences?
Velimia s expression softened slightly, though she quickly regained her haughty demeanor.
You re here to make peace on their behalf, aren t you? she asked coldly.
They re clever letting you take the blame for them.
Audrey didn t argue. She answered calmly, You ve been standing here for a long time. I thought you might be hungry.
Then she continued gently, Now that you ve eaten, let s go downstairs. Everyone is waiting for you to discuss what program we ll put up for the first stage.
Velimia frowned. They re the ones who didn t agree. What s there to discuss?
Deep down, she knew this stalemate couldn t continue but she was unwilling to back down so easily.
Audrey, however, had little patience for dragging things out.
She spoke bluntly, We haven t decided on the lead singer yet. Your voice is good. Why don t you take that role?
Velimia panicked instantly.
Although her dancing was unrivaled, her singing was terrible. If she sang on stage, her carefully built image as a proud, elegant artist would collapse overnight.
Flustered, she snapped, Hey! Who s the team leader here? I haven t set any rules yet!
Audrey met her gaze calmly. In our team, some people are good at dancing, while others excel at singing. Even though we were grouped together at the last minute, everyone wants to present their best.
She continued evenly, Since fate put us in the same group, we should make use of everyone s strengths. We can t just think about ourselves.
Velimia s expression darkened again. Who says I only think of myself? I ve considered all of you. I can personally teach everyone how to dance!
Audrey replied patiently, You became a national-level dancer after training for many years. If we could reach your level in just seventy-two hours, wouldn t that make us more talented than geniuses?
Velimia had no response.
Her choreography was notoriously difficult. Expecting amateurs to master it in three days was unrealistic.
Usually, it was Yulia Judd who argued with her endlessly, which only fueled her temper. Audrey s calm reasoning, however, left her no room to lash out.
Seeing the situation had turned in her favor, Audrey decided to end it.
Let s go downstairs, she said. If there are any issues, we can work them out together.
After a brief pause, Velimia nodded reluctantly.
Downstairs, the others had heard the loud noise from above.
Paula and Yulia exchanged startled looks.
Don t tell me they started fighting? Yulia whispered.
Should we go up and check? Paula asked nervously.
