Chapter 352
Evelyn thought her ears were deceiving her. A child wasn't some commodity to be traded - how could he demand one as repayment?
The confusion must have shown on her face because Dominic stated coldly, "You'll use that womb of yours to produce another. I don't care if it's born breathing or not - as long as it carries my blood!"
A violent shudder ran through Evelyn's body. "Dominic! Have you lost your damn mind?" she screamed hysterically.
Had he forgotten? When she'd been pregnant with his children before, he'd dragged her to that abortion clinic himself!
Now he was demanding she bear his child? What did he think she was? Some breeding mare to be used at his whim?
Conceive when he wanted, terminate when he didn't?
A bitter laugh escaped her lips.
"Yes! I'm completely insane!" His eyes burned crimson with barely contained rage. "You did this to me, Evelyn! Your endless lies and deception - you've pushed me past all limits of patience!"
The sheer ferocity in his expression made Evelyn shrink back instinctively.
She stumbled backward until her legs hit the sofa, collapsing onto it.
"Mercy is no longer an option," Dominic hissed, looming over her. "You made your choices - now face the consequences. Whether the child lives or dies means nothing to me. From tonight onward, you'll come whenever I summon you. This continues until you're carrying my heir."
Evelyn's fingers twisted into the sofa cushions as Dominic's shadow engulfed her. The thought of bringing another life into this nightmare - only for him to treat it with the same cruelty - made her stomach churn.
"No!" she spat defiantly. "Find some other woman to torture!"
"This isn't a negotiation." His voice dropped to a deadly whisper. "Run to the ends of the earth if you must - I'll drag you back. Your only paths to freedom are death... or giving me what I want. And if you choose death?" A cruel smirk twisted his lips. "Your children will pay the price."
Evelyn's blood ran cold.
His icy fingers began methodically unbuttoning her blouse, stripping away her dignity one button at a time.
Meanwhile, Michael Sterling parked outside the Blackwood estate, concocting his cover story for the guard.
"I'm Michael - an old friend of Mr. Blackwood's. He invited me for drinks." Best to get inside first, then improvise.
The guard recognized him - not as Dominic's friend, but as Evelyn's.
"Mr. Blackwood isn't home. Come back later."
"Do you know when he'll return?"
"No idea."
"Is Sophia here then? Sophia and I are close." Michael's mind raced. Then he shouted toward the mansion, "Sophia! It's Michael! Lily and Henry sent me to check on you!"
The commotion drew Mrs. Wilkins outside.
"Mrs. Wilkins! Is Sophia home? Tell her to let me in!" Michael called desperately.
Moments later, Mrs. Wilkins emerged with Sophia in tow.
Seeing Michael, Sophia immediately moved to open the gate. In this household, after Dominic, her word was law. The guards wouldn't dare contradict her.
"Sophia! Evelyn's missing! I think Dominic took her!" Michael grasped her hands urgently. "Come with me - we'll trade you for Evelyn's safety. Please!"
Sophia nodded without hesitation. Michael nearly cheered - his plan was working perfectly!
