Chapter 364

Dominic turned around and glanced at Henry.

Coincidentally, Henry was staring right back at him.

Father and son locked eyes in a silent battle of wills.

Henry glared before looking away. "Lily, he won't eat anything we offer him."

Lily sighed. "Henry, why do you think he's here?" She despised Dominic with every fiber of her being, yet she couldn't stop stealing glances at him.

"I don't know. Are you finished eating?"

Lily shook her head. "I'm waiting for Mom to bring the ketchup."

Just then, Evelyn stepped out of the house, a bottle of ketchup in hand.

Sophie hurried over and whispered, "Evelyn, you don't keep laxatives in your house, do you?"

Evelyn frowned. "Why?"

Sophie recounted the earlier events. "I nearly died laughing. You should've seen Dominic's face—he was furious but couldn't do a thing! Our Lily is adorable. Who could stay mad at her?"

Evelyn was speechless.

Now she understood why Lily had devoured the sauce so quickly and asked for more—it was to get Evelyn out of the way.

Evelyn placed the meat skewers in front of her children. "I made these for you. Eat up, then head inside when you're done."

"Okay. Mom, come back with us," Lily said.

"Of course," Evelyn replied.

Once the children finished, they dragged Evelyn back into the house. Instead of going upstairs, they lingered on the first floor, playing where everyone could see them.

Half an hour later, Evelyn took them upstairs for their bath.

Meanwhile, the drinking contest between Michael and Nathan ended with Michael's defeat. He hadn't expected Nathan's alcohol tolerance to improve so much.

After losing, the group demanded Michael perform.

Dominic watched disinterestedly before setting down his glass and standing.

Sophie, who had been keeping an eye on him, nudged Adrian.

Adrian quickly intercepted Dominic. "Heading back?"

Dominic gestured toward the mansion. "I need to use the restroom."

"Oh... right." Adrian chuckled awkwardly before returning to Sophie. "He's just going to the bathroom. I can't follow him in there."

Sophie huffed. "This is your fault! Why did you tell him you were coming to Evelyn's? It's like inviting a wolf into the henhouse!"

"I can't lie to him. Besides, he helped me today. How could I deceive him?" Adrian defended. "You never invite me to these gatherings. Why today?"

"Fine, I won't invite you next time!"

"Don't be like that. He won't follow every time. I think he's just... struggling to cope."

"So he came to pick a fight with Evelyn?"

"He hasn't done anything yet, has he?" Adrian countered. "He drank, ate, and—"

"And now he's going to cause trouble," Sophie finished. "He's not going to the bathroom. He's going after Evelyn!"

Upstairs, Evelyn had just finished bathing the children and tucked them in. Exhausted, she retreated to her room—only to freeze when a figure appeared before her.

"You—"

Dominic strode forward, shutting the door and locking it.

"Your house isn't soundproof. Scream if you want an audience." He cornered her, his bloodshot eyes burning into hers.

Evelyn flushed. She'd let her guard down. He hadn't come just for dinner. "Aren't you tired, Dominic?" she hissed.
