Chapter 1727
chapter1727
One of the employees said, "Stole your son's girlfriend?"
"Are you sure you've got this right? Mr. Sullivan has a girlfriend."
"And his girlfriend is the cousin of our CEO, Mr. Godfrey Earnshaw."
"Yeah! You must be mistaken."
Everyone who worked at the company knew what kind of man Harvey was. If it had been Godfrey or someone else, they might believe it. But the idea that Harvey had stolen someone's girlfriend was laughable.
There were plenty of women who wanted to marry Harvey, but in the past few years, he hadn't been interested in anyone except Alina. So the idea of him stealing someone's girlfriend was ridiculous.
"Is your Mr. Sullivan's girlfriend named Alina? Because Alina is my son's girlfriend," Opal quickly spoke up.
She thought that they didn't know anything. They worked for Harvey, so naturally, they would defend him.
If it weren't for Harvey's wealth, Alina would have stayed with Theodore. He was outstanding, just not as rich, but he had a promising future ahead.
When Alina's name was mentioned, everyone fell silent for a moment. Indeed, Harvey's girlfriend was named Alina.
They were surprised to learn that Alina had another boyfriend. No one could believe that she was the type to juggle two men at once.
The employees exchanged uneasy looks.
Seeing that many employees in front of the door had fallen silent, Opal felt a bit smug. "Now, do you believe us? Your Mr. Sullivan is just relying on his money to steal other people's girlfriends. It's truly despicable."
Opal's words were harsh.
Everyone was unsure about what to do since they didn't know the full truth. Just then, Godfrey arrived. Someone quickly updated him on the situation.
Godfrey had just learned in the past few days that Harvey had broken up with Alina. Although Harvey didn't share the details, Godfrey had spoken to Alina and knew part of the story.
It seemed that these two elderly people were Theodore's parents, and their behavior was truly bizarre. But he had to admit, Alina had really acted foolishly.
With a cold expression, Godfrey
stepped forward and addressed
Opal and Warren, who were standing at the door. "If you continue causing a scene, I will call the police
immediately. You know full well the kind of relationship they had-it was nothing more than a college
romance."
Although Alina had made a mistake, Godfrey wasn't about to air her faults in front
of everyone. It was simply a momentary lapse in judgment.
Opal's and Warren's expressions
shifted when they realized that the person in front of them wasn't Harvey. Theodore had found a photo online to confirm Harvey's identity, and clearly, this man wasn't him.
Warren asked, "Who are you? What do you know? We're looking for Harvey we need to speak with him. Even if the police are here, we won't leave. I don't believe the police can be bought off with money.
Godfrey's temper flared. He turned to one of the nearby employees. "Call the police."
"Got it."
"I just called Mr. Sullivan. He'll be here soon," Godfrey added coldly.
Opal and Warren were momentarily startled by the mention of the police, but soon their indifference returned. They weren't concerned about the embarrassment.
In fact, they were hoping to get a substantial sum from Harvey today, or perhaps something of value like a property in Jipsburg.
"I forgot to mention, Harvey and Alina have broken up. So, you should think carefully before you continue making a scene. It won't be good for you," Godfrey warned coldly.
