Chapter 1772

chapter1772

Since Thelma left the set, she had followed Charles' advice and returned home. Her phone was not turned off but set to silent mode.

Charles had mentioned that many people would be trying to contact her today. Some would be genuinely concerned, while others would simply be seeking drama. Either way, she didn't need to concern herself with it. Her priority was the script.

The new place she had moved to was also an apartment, but it was bigger, in a better complex with improved security, and she didn't have to worry about the media following her.

With the police involved and a lawyer handling the situation, there was nothing to fear. She hadn't done anything wrong, so there was no reason to feel afraid. The ones who should be worried were those who had fabricated the fake photos.

She refocused on the script. If she wanted to match Charles' caliber, she needed to put in the effort. Talking the talk wasn't enough; she had to take action and work hard.

Just as she finished reviewing her lines, a knock came at the door. Assuming it was Charles, she walked over to open it.

However, the sight of the person standing there made her expression harden.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her hand already on the door, ready to close it.

But Warwick wedged his foot in the doorway, blocking her attempt.

"What can't it be me? Thelma, you've got some nerve. So resourceful, huh? So quick to get involved with Charles? And now you've got him publicly announcing your relationship—at a time like this? I underestimated you." Warwick's words were filled with bitterness.

He had been interested in her for years, only to watch someone else swoop in and claim her. The sting of rejection fueled his resentment.

Thelma froze, her mind racing. She hadn't expected this confrontation, nor had she known that Charles had gone public with their relationship. Charles had told her not to worry about anything, but now she wondered if he intended to shoulder the storm alone.

For a brief moment, her eyes welled with emotion. "Yeah, you did underestimate me."

For years, she believed she would never meet someone who truly cared for her. But Charles had proven otherwise. Through his actions, he had shown her that she was worth it.

Warwick's sneer deepened. "So, those photos-they're real, aren't they? You really surprise me, Thelma. Acting all pure and

righteous in front of me, pretending you didn't want anything to do with me. s?novel

"Meanwhile, you were off taking photos like that. How many people have you slept with behind my back? I thought you were different from the other actresses!"

His words gripped with venom. The

woman he had schemed and obsessed over turned out to have

been with others, and now she had

latched onto Charles. The realization churned his stomach.

It couldn't have been more disgusting. But more than that, it was infuriating.

Thelma's face darkened at his

words. "You clearly haven't seen the

trending news. I've already reported

this to the authorities and issued a legal statement. Soon enough, I'll be proven innocent. Now, leave."

Warwick let out a derisive laugh. "You think I'm falling for that PR stunt? Don't act innocent with me, Thelma. You've always been a liar!"

Before he could finish, Thelma delivered a swift kick to his groin.

Caught completely off guard, Warwick let out a strangled cry and crumpled to the ground, clutching himself in pain.

Thelma slammed the door shut without a second glance.

She hadn't used much force, so she wasn't worried about hurting Warwick too badly. He deserved it anyway.

Warwick's pained groans echoed outside for a moment before fading. But soon, he was back, pounding on the door. "Open up! We need to talk. You owe me an explanation."

The thought of Thelma being with Charles gnawed at him. It left an unbearable bitterness in his chest.
