Chapter 1836
chapter1836
Vivian had her own aspirations, and she firmly believed that her parents would return one day.
At 10:00 pm, she returned to her dormitory from the lab.
Most of her roommates were already asleep. After washing up, she was about to go to bed when several messages popped up on her phone.
She opened them and saw they were from her Uncle Harvey.
"Do you have time this Saturday? Your grandma misses you. If you're free, I'll pick you up on Saturday, and we can visit her together."
"Take care of yourself. The weather's changing, and it's flu season. A lot of people are getting sick. If you catch a cold, don't stay at school-come home and rest properly."
Her uncle was a rather aloof person, showing warmth only to family members and doting on the younger generation like her. Besides that, he was quite reserved, especially with colleagues.
Over the years, her parents had introduced several potential girlfriends to her uncle, but he seemed to have been hurt by a past relationship and hadn't pursued love since.
He'd even joked with her and her cousins, saying, "You lot will have to look after me when I'm old."
He'd also mentioned that he planned to pass his business on to her since she was the most talented at gaming among the younger generation. The game development company he founded was perfectly suited for her.
When she heard about his plan, she didn't know how to respond. After all, her uncle wasn't that old-wasn't 41 considered the prime of a man's life? Why had he already resigned himself to staying single?
Her grandma's biggest concerns were her and her uncle. Since her parents' disappearance, her uncle had been most worried about her.
After some thought, she replied, "I'm busy on Saturday, but I'll go to Grandma's on Sunday by myself. Don't let me interfere with your personal time, Uncle Harvey. I heard there's a beautiful lady chasing after you. Is it true?"
Harvey then responded, "Mind your own business, kid. There's no such thing. And don't rush into a
relationship—you're still young. Most boys these days just want to date without taking responsibility Be careful and keep your eyes open."
Vivian sighed. Why did all her elders still treat her like a child? She was an adult, wasn't she?
But she understood that in her family's eyes, she would always be a child no matter how old she got.
To avoid a long lecture, she quickly replied with enthusiasm, "I'll listen to you, Uncle Harvey! I won't date But you have to listen to Grandma and go on more dates with that lady.
"Who knows? Maybe in a couple of years, I'll have more cousins. I adore babies-
they're so soft and cute. My dream depends on you to make it come true!"
Harvey didn't give a direct reply to her teasing and simply wrote, "Go to sleep."
Vivian twitched the corner of her mouth. Then, she thought to herself, "Grandma, I tried my best. But Uncle Harvey seemed dead set on being single for life."
She and Charles had tried every possible way to persuade him, but he remained unmoved. They had run out of ideas.
Setting those thoughts aside, she put her phone away, yawned, and got ready to sleep.
As she drifted off, she vaguely thought about seeing Manfred in a few days.
He was probably busy digesting the books she had given him.
The thought made her lips curl into a smile as she eagerly anticipated their meeting.
Time flew by, and soon it was Friday.
