Chapter 1850
chapter1850
The words spoken by Rhea had snapped Zea out of her confusion. She felt her face turn pale with realization.
"Rhea, you're right. You've seen things for what they are. I felt something was off, but I couldn't quite place it. Now, after hearing you, I'm certain-Manfred is deliberately putting on an act. He's so young, yet his thoughts are already so scheming. But does he really think such tricks can change anything?" Zea sneered.
Rhea spoke somberly, "Mr. Randall must want to make Mr. Manfred the family's heir. Given Mr. Cyril's current situation, he can't become the heir. If Mr. Manfred ascends to that position, Cyril's future will be grim. Mrs. Atkinson, we must act quickly before things get out of hand."
Zea furrowed her brow, clearly troubled. "I know we must act soon, but those two women haven't conceived yet. If we make a move on him now, the Atkinson family might be completely cut off from heirs!"
That was the most perilous part of the situation.
Rhea's eyes gleamed with a sharp understanding. "As for the child, that's simpler than we thought. I didn't realize it earlier, but now I've figured it out. What does it matter whether the child is Mr. Manfred's or not? It doesn't concern you, Mrs. Atkinson.
"It would be more beneficial if it were connected to Mr. Cyril and you instead. We can find a woman we can control to bear the child, then claim that it's Cyril's. This way, all the difficulties you're facing will be solved. It won't be as complicated as it seems."
As Rhea's words sank in, Zea's eyes gleamed with realization, her face lighting up with astonishment. "Why didn't I think of that? Rhea, let's do it your way."
Rhea smiled confidently. "I'll take care of everything, Mrs. Atkinson. Don't worry. You will be at ease from now on."
In a matter of hours, the two women had decided on a course of action. Little did they know, things wouldn't unfold as they had planned.
Hours later, the night had deepened, and a thick layer of clouds covered the moon. A shadowy figure moved silently through the mansion, slipping through the night with a quiet determination.
The figure eventually reached the most isolated part of the Atkinson residence.
Silently, the figure entered the room. At that exact moment, as Kemp Schwartz passed through the doorway, Manfred's eyes snapped open.
"Who are you?" Manfred demanded coldly.
Kemp replied, am a guard from the Holland family. Mr. Holland Senior is currently traveling from the frontier to Vlario, and I set out ahead of him to gather information. After some investigation, I learned about your situation, so I came to rescue you. Please rest assured that Mr. Holland Senior will make things right for you.
"Randall has gone too far! For years, he has deceived Mr. Holland Senior. Mr. Holland Senior believed that you would live well under Randall and Zea's Care. Yet they have conspired together to deceive Mr. Holland Senior and the Holland family!"
Kemp's words were filled with righteous indignation. However, Manfred remained calm.
"Prove to me you are from my grandfather's side," he said coldly.
Kemp was not surprised by Manfred's caution. He immediately took out an insignia and lit a candle.
In the soft candlelight, Manfred could clearly see the shape of the insignia, and his eyes darkened.
"I believe you now, but I can't leave right now. You need to help me with something first," Manfred said in a low voice.
Kemp was taken aback. He had investigated thoroughly over the past few days and knew the terrible conditions Manfred was enduring. It was almost as bad as living like a beggar.
Given such torment, he was surprised that Manfred still had no plans to leave.
"Two women
en are staying in the east
wing of the mansion. I want you to strip them of their clothes and throw
them onto Randall's bed. Give all
three of them a dose of the
ver
medicine." Manfred's voice was cold, devoid of any obvious hatred.
But Kemp immediately understood what Manfred wanted to do.
"Is it the kind of medicine commonly used in brothels?" Kemp confirmed. Manfred gave a soft hum of agreement.
