Chapter 1949

chapter1949

These days, many people preferred wearing emerald signet rings, but the one made of pure gold had intricate engravings symbolizing good fortune and

happiness.

Vivian had liked it so much when she first saw it that she decided to buy it.

Manfred took the ring and slid it on without hesitation. Just as Vivian had anticipated, his fingers were long and slender, and the ring fit perfectly. It looked stunning on him.

She couldn't help but be dazzled. "This ring looks amazing on you, and your hands are also quite beautiful."

It wasn't just empty flattery. Manfed's hands were indeed long and slender, with distinct knuckles. If he lived in the modern world, he would surely excel at playing

the piano.

A faint blush tinged Manfred's ears as he lingered his gaze on his hand.

Vivian then picked up the bottles of medicine and started explaining. "These are nutritional supplements. You can take one a day."

These were the same pills that Howard had prepared for her, and she had grabbed a few extra bottles.

"Are they similar to the ones you take?" Manfred asked, opening the bottle. The small pill that came out looked nearly identical to what Vivian had taken last night.

It was similar to the ones she had given him a few years ago. Though they looked alike, the effects were different.

Vivian said, "Yes, they're nutritional supplements. But these aren't available in stores. Uncle Howard specially prepared them. They're great for replenishing vitamins and other nutrients.

"Yours and mine are a bit different, though. The ones I take are more suited for women, while these are better for men."

"I see. I also have something for you, but it's in Vlario. I'll bring it to you when we get there," Manfred said, feeling a bit regretful that he hadn't brought it with him.

Vivian smiled and nodded. "Okay."

She was certain now that she would be going to Vlario this time with him.

Seeing her agreement to go with him, the spark in Manfred's eyes seemed to shine even brighter.

"I still have some matters to attend to, but I'll have dinner with you later," he said, reluctantly standing up.

He needed to go now.

Vivian walked him to the door to see him off.

As she looked at Manfred's tall figure, Vivian suddenly spoke, "Manfred."

He stopped, turned around, and

looked at her. His eyes clearly reflected her image, with a trace of affection he didn't manage to conceal.

Vivian froze for a moment, a pang of pain spreading through her chest. "Manfred, good luck!"

Manfred smiled and nodded. For a brief second, he had thought Vivian would confess that she liked him

too. But he knew that in her heart, he

was nothing more than a fleeting

passerby in her life.

As the evening approached, Manfred hadn't returned.

However, a soldier arrived, holding something wrapped in red cloth. He hurriedly approached and handed the item to Vivian.

"This contains a copper mirror. Mr. Atkinson asked me to deliver it, saying you

should check if this is the one you've been looking for."

Vivian had been curious about what was wrapped in red cloth, but upon hearing the soldier's words, she immediately unwrapped it.

An antique copper mirror came into view.

"This copper mirror was something Mr. Atkinson bought when he saw it being pawned at a pawn shop. He had a strong intuition that it was the copper mirror you needed. Please take a look and let me know so that I can report back to Mr. Atkinson."

The soldier had truly run all the way back, still out of breath as he spoke, a layer

of sweat on his forehead.

Vivian nodded, taking the copper mirror into her hands.
