Chapter 1846

chapter1846

Moreover, Vivian's uncles were no pushovers either.

Ten minutes later, Vivian explained the situation downstairs. Of course, she didn't mention which friend had been drugged, nor could she explain anything about Manfred.

After all, the idea of time travel seemed so unbelievable. Anyone would be shocked by it and might even doubt the story's validity. Of course, she figured they would believe her if she told them the truth, but it would only make them worry about her safety even more.

"This is what happened. My friend knows she's wrong and won't go to places like bars anymore," she said.

Paul's and Howard's expressions slowly returned to normal. At this point, Edgar had arrived.

He walked over to Vivian. When he saw that she was unharmed, he finally felt at ease.

"I was so worried! I'm just glad you're fine, Vivian," Edgar said, his anxiety finally dissipating.

Vivian smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Edgar. I'm fine! I'll make sure to explain things clearly next time so there won't be any misunderstandings."

"It's not your fault, it's mine. I overcomplicated things. It's getting late, so you all should rest. Paul, Tilda, and I will leave now. If anything comes up, make sure to call me right away," Howard said, standing up.

Paul and Tilda also stood up, preparing to leave. Before they left, Paul gave Vivian one last piece of advice.

"If a stranger offers you something to drink or eat, don't accept it. There are too many bad people in this world, and it's getting too complicated. Do you understand?"

"Got it." Vivian nodded. After giving his instructions, Paul finally felt a sense of relief.

After the two of them left, Edgar stayed behind.

At his age, after such a late-night trip, he must have been exhausted. When Edgar finally went to bed, Vivian returned to her room and lay back down.

The warm blanket settled over her, and she let out a long sigh. After a restless night, she was finally able to rest properly.

However, the situation with Manfred wasn't looking too good. Whoever had drugged him might try again if they didn't succeed at first time.

But she had confidence in Manfred. When she left, he assured her not to worry, saying that he could handle the situation. He spoke with such confidence, not to calm her down, but because he truly believe he could manage it.

She trusted him and even thought that he might retaliate, making those who harmed him pay the price.

Although she was kind to others net

growing up, she always understood that when someone tried to hurt her, it was crucial to fight back.

So, she could guess why Cyril had become a useless person. With that thought,

she let out a sigh of relief and gradually fell into a peaceful sleep.

Meanwhile, Paul didn't go home. Paul went directly to Howard's house.

The distance from the villa to his place was short. There were still matters to discuss.

Some things hadn't been appropriate to say in front of Edgar earlier. But now, with the three of them alone, they could finally talk.

Tilda made some coffee, and the three of them sat down, each with a cup. The night was almost over, and they weren't feeling sleepy anymore.

After finishing their coffee, Tilda went to prepare breakfast while Paul and Howard began discussing.

Paul's tone was serious as he spoke. "I checked the surveillance footage on the way here. No one went to Galaxy Villa, so Vivian must have lied. She's hiding something from us."

Howard nodded. "Do you think she might have been the one drugged? She might not want us to worry, which is why she's keeping things from us. We need to figure out` who's close enough to her to harm her. The person who did this would have had access to her."
