Chapter 1789
chapter1789
No, that wasn't right.
Even if Wendy came back, Aiken didn't have feelings for her anymore. There was no way he would go back to being with her.
Had Aiken fallen for someone else? Realizing this possibility, Zera's face turned pale.
The driver up front didn't dare glance at her, sensing the heavy mood filling the
car.
It wasn't until they arrived in front of Aiken's house that Zera finally took off her sunglasses.
However, anyone with eyes could see that Zera's eyes were extremely red, as if she hadn't slept well in days-or had been crying recently.
As a beautiful woman, even with red-rimmed eyes and a pale, cold face, she exuded a fragile allure that could stir anyone's heart.
It was at this moment that Simona coincidentally returned and happened to witness the scene.
Although she didn't like Zera at all, she had to admit that Zera was fairly attractive. After all, one couldn't survive in the entertainment industry without decent looks.
"What are you doing here again?" Simona asked.
Last time, she had made it very clear that if Zera wanted to see her brother, she shouldn't come here.
Zera hadn't expected her luck to be so bad, running into Simona the moment she arrived.
She believed that Simona was partly to blame for their breakup. Simona had always supported Wendy and probably spoke ill of her in front of Aiken. Over time, Aiken must have started seeing her negatively.
She had been prepared to marry Aiken, but his sudden announcement of a breakup completely disrupted her plans.
Taking a deep breath, she softened her tone and said with a hint of vulnerability, "I know you've probably seen the trending topics and are aware that there's been some tension between your brother and me. But there's no need for us to be so hostile. I just want to see him and ask a few questions."
Simona raised an eyebrow at the mention of trending topics. "Do you think I'm as idle as you? I don't have time to browse through that nonsense."
Especially not entertainment gossip-she simply didn't have the time.
Zera was momentarily stunned. "You don't know?"
Simona, losing patience, said, "My brother's not home. He's out of the country."
"What? Out of the country? Why would he go abroad? Did he say when he'd be back?" Zera panicked completely.
She urgently needed to resolve her
situa and without seeing Aiken,
she couldn't fix anything. He wasn't answering any of her calls on messages.
Simona rolled her eyes. "How would I know when he's coming back?"
Suddenly, she realized something. "Did my brother break up with you?"
Otherwise, why would Zera be acting so frantic? It was easy to guess that they might have split.
Simona had to admit that she was impressed that Zera had lasted this long by her brother's side.
Hearing the words "break up," Zera's face turned even paler. "We didn't break up. We just... had a little fight."
"That might fool someone else, but not me—and certainly not yourself. I know my brother. If he's told you it's over and hasn't shared his
whereabouts, it means you're nothing to him anymore.
"If I were you, I'd stop clinging onto him before it gets even more embarrassing. You'll end up with nothing when the time comes." Simona's tone softened slightly but remained blunt.
Zera was stunned by her words. "Nothing to him? How could I be nothing? He loved me so much, spoiled me, gave me so many resources..."
"Resources? Those are nothing to him. As long as you made him happy, he was willing to give you whatever material things you wanted.
"He's never lacked people like you in his life-I've lost count of how many there have been. But few are as clingy and unwilling to let go as you.
"You've already gotten plenty out of him. Take what you've gained and move on," Simona said coldly before turning and heading inside.
