Chapter 1728

chapter1728

Warren and Opal were taken aback. "They broke up?"

They assumed that if Alina wasn't with Theodore, it must have been because she wanted to stay with Harvey. The news that they had broken up so easily caught them completely off guard.

"You think we'd believe you just because you said they broke up?" Opal rolled her eyes.

These wealthy individuals carried themselves with an air of superiority, their noses lifted high as if they were above everyone else. They assumed everyone else was a fool who could be easily tricked with a few words.

Godfrey smirked coldly, suppressing the urge to curse Alina out loud.

Just because Theodore was her first love didn't mean she should idolize him. He couldn't imagine what kind of person Theodore would turn out to be, considering the behavior of his parents.

If Alina threw everything away for this so-called first love, she would regret it. He was certain that regret would come crashing down on her sooner or later.

Godfrey had been Harvey's classmate for years and knew him well. Once Harvey ended a relationship, there was no going back, especially when it involved infidelity on Alina's part.

"Believe it or not, I don't care. Right now, you're disrupting our employees from getting to work. There are only three minutes left before the workday begins. Any losses caused by your delay will result in a lawsuit, and we'll be seeking compensation," Godfrey said flatly.

He had no patience for people like this, and there was no need to sugarcoat things. Reasoning with them would be pointless.

The mention of compensation stunned Warren and Opal. The idea of being sued for money was beyond what they had anticipated.

"If I were you, I'd leave now. Our company has a legal team. Even if you plead poverty, you'll still be forced to pay. You might even become a defendant in court. That could affect your son's future-his job prospects, and even the future of your grandchildren," someone advised.

"Why bother explaining to them? It's obvious they're here to stir up trouble. Going on and on about Harvey stealing their son's girlfriend-wait until they're facing charges. Then they'll understand how foolish they had been to make such a scene."

Warren and Opal froze in shock when they realized that becoming defendants could not only affect Theodore but also jeopardize the future of their grandchildren.

Harvey arrived just then. He had been watching videos sent by employees, so he knew why Warren and Opal were there.

He hadn't expected the drama with Alina to continue even after their breakup. Harvey couldn't believe that Alina's first love's parents dared to confront him.

He regarded Warren and Opal with a cold, unyielding expression. "I'm Harvey. What do you want?"

Glancing at his wristwatch, he added, "You have 30 seconds. If my employees can't get to work on time because of you, I will hold you fully accountable for the consequences."

Harvey wasn't a saint, nor was he the type to show excessive respect or kindness to every elderly person. Startled by Harvey's commanding presence, Warren and Opal O

instinctively stepped aside.

His air of authority was overwhelming, a frigid sternness that brooked no defiance.

One by one, the employees entered the building, leaving Godfrey behind. His face was filled with regret as he glanced at Harvey. After all, it was he who had introduced Alina to Harvey in the first place.

"You have five minutes. State your purpose," Harvey spoke coldly and then glanced at his watch, starting the countdown.

Warren and Opal were both taken aback by Harvey's intimidating presence. They stood frozen for several minutes, trying to regain their composure.

But by the time they did, their confidence was nowhere near as strong as it had been when they first arrived.

"You stole my son's girlfriend and owe him an explanation. He's so heartbroken, that he's thinking about jumping off a building. If you don't give usa satisfactory answer, I call the press. Let's see if your company can withstand the fallout of a public scandal," Warren yelled, his voice rising.

His voice grew louder, convinced that the power of his shouting would lend more

weight to his words and make him more convincing.

Opal chimed in immediately, her tone shrill and indignant. "If anything happens to

my son, you'll pay with your life."

"Is Alina Theodore's girlfriend?" he asked, his tone sharp.

"Of course! They've been together since college."
