Chapter 1737
chapter1737
Not only did Charles talk to Thelma, but he also went out of his way to give her a bottle of water.
Although this scene wasn't captured by the cameras-it was a private moment-it still conveyed a message that Charles' attitude toward Thelma wasn't ordinary.
In the past, during filming breaks, it was rare to see Charles interact with female co-stars unless it was necessary for rehearsing lines. Beyond those few words, he would remain completely detached.
"What's going on here? Charles seems to be treating Thelma differently," another actress whispered to Sienna.
Sienna, who maintained a composed public persona, replied indifferently, "Really? I didn't notice anything unusual."
"I've never worked with Charles, so I'm not sure how he interacts with actresses privately. But I've heard he avoids contact with them to prevent rumors.
"Or maybe he has a girlfriend outside the industry, which is why he's uninterested in co-stars," the actress speculated in a low voice.
Behind the scenes, everyone loved gossiping.
Even insiders weren't necessarily privy to much more than the public when it came to certain people-especially someone like Charles, whose squeaky-clean private life made others incredibly curious.
Sienna smiled faintly. "I've worked with Charles before, but I've never heard about him having a girlfriend."
The other actress, envious of Sienna, said, "You're so lucky! I heard your career's been thriving lately because the drama you did with Charles was a huge hit.
"If I could star in a drama with him, I'd be over the moon. Still, I can't shake the feeling that Charles treats Thelma differently."
After all, he gave water only to Thelma, completely ignoring the two of them.
Compared to Thelma, who was virtually invisible in the entertainment world, the other two actresses had far greater fame.
Sienna grew increasingly annoyed by the actress' chatter and stopped responding. Her gaze, however, turned icy as she looked at Thelma.
During her break, Skylar saw the scenic photos Charles posted in the group chat, which brought back childhood memories.
When Harvey identified someone in the photo as his former classmate, Thelma, she was a little surprised.
A high school classmate Harvey hadn't interacted with much-how could he recognize her from such an inconspicuous spot in the picture?
Just as she was mulling it over, Charles messaged her privately.
"Harvey's behavior seems off. Could it be that he had a crush on Thelma in high school? Now that he's single, should I give him a little push?
Maybe set up a meeting?
"I happen to be filming a variety show with Thelma for the next week or so. I'll use
the time to get to know her better."
It seemed they were on the same idea.
But Skylar thought it over. Perhaps Thelma dropping out of high school had on
left a strong impression School
Harvey, and they were overthinking
it.
It wasn't the right time to ask Harvey anyway, given that he was still healing from
his breakup with Alina.
So, Skylar replied, "I don't think it's
necessary for now. If Harvey wants Thelma's contact information, he'll ask
for it. We shouldn't interfere too much in his love life."
"Alright. I'll have my manager look into Thelma's background and get prepared."
Skylar paused, then replied, "That's not a bad idea."
After all, this was the first time Harvey had shown interest in a female classmate. It wouldn't hurt to be ready.
After a one-hour lunch break, the group resumed filming.
Thelma stared at the bottle of water in her hand, lost in thought for a long time.
Once filming restarted, she snapped out of it, but her mind was heavy with worry. Sienna's words lingered in her heart like a sharp nail.
If she exploited Charles, how would that make her any different from Sienna?
As for the money she desperately needed, she would have to find another way.
