Chapter 1740

chapter1740

"Yes, I need to go to Yathoria for a business trip in the next couple of days. It'll take about half a month," Joe said, his brow slightly furrowed.

In recent years, he had rarely traveled abroad for work, avoiding long separations from home as much as possible because he didn't want to be away from Skylar for too long.

Skylar also felt reluctant. "Half a month, huh."

"I'll try to come back as soon as I can, and I'll video call you and Vivian every day," Joe reassured her, feeling more reluctant as he spoke.

He was well aware of how much he depended on Skylar in their marriage. Wherever she was felt like home to him.

Skylar, though feeling reluctant, smiled and said, "When you're not busy, let's call each other more often. You must have the charm I gave you at all times and be careful when you're there."

"Okay, I'll listen to you," he agreed.

Natalie had trouble sleeping.

She missed her three children terribly, far from the indifferent fa?ade she showed

to her parents. In truth, she knew very well that divorce wouldn't be easy.

She stared at a message Hank had sent her an hour ago, feeling lost.

"It's been years since we've met. You didn't even tell me you were back? Let's meet tomorrow at my barbecue restaurant. I've invited a few friends too."

For the past few days, she and Austin hadn't spoken at all. His cold attitude toward her likely meant he was reevaluating their relationship.

Meeting Hank at this time only made her think of Austin. But...

Back when she had just started working, Hank had been exceptionally kind to her. Even when she was abroad and her family needed help, Hank would always be willing to step in.

Since he had extended the invitation, she couldn't refuse. So, she replied to him, confirming that she would meet him tomorrow.

After sending the message, she turned off the lights and tried to sleep.

However, even with her phone put away and the room shrouded in darkness, her mind was a chaotic mess.

On the second day of filming, Charles and Thelma were paired together again and had priority in choosing their task.

They picked the easiest one-gathering wild vegetables.

The villagers guided them to the mountain, teaching them to identify a couple of types of edible plants. Theiptask was to fill a basketby the end of the morning.

In comparison, the other groups had to labor alongside the villagers, making the

vegetable-picking task the most relaxed.

Coincidentally, both Charles and

Thelma already knew how to identify wild vegetables. Although the villagers only showed them two

types, the pair recognized many more but didn't mention it.

Then they started gathering on their own.

With some luck, they quickly filled their basket and found a spot to sit and enjoy the scenery.

With cameras constantly following them, the two didn't talk much, maintaining a quiet presence in front of the lens.

Perhaps because they rarely had such moments of peace to zone out, they stayed seated until the time was up before heading back down the mountain.

Time flew by, and three more days passed smoothly during the recording.

One evening, as she rested, Thelma replied to a message from Warwick. "I agree to your terms. Once I return to Jipsburg the day after tomorrow, I hope you will immediately transfer the money to my account.

Warwick responded, "If you're going to be my woman, you cannot act in films or appear on shows anymore. Otherwise, our meeting will be exposed.

"I'll pay off your company's penalty fees, but for the next few years, you're mine and mine alone. Understand?"

A suffocating feeling overwhelmed Thelma. She typed a simple "Okay" in reply.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

The filming finally wrapped up, and upon returning to Jipsburg, the production team organized a dinner for the cast and crew.
