Chapter 1777

chapter1777

Skylar immediately examined the photo's sender. When she saw that it was Priscilla, she raised an eyebrow.

"Mrs. Martin, I'm not sending you this photo to stir up trouble between you and Mr. Martin. His feelings for you are unrivaled. This photo came from a friend. The woman in it is Beata Stevenson.

"She's just returned from abroad and is working on a project with Mr. Martin. We have a mutual friend who mentioned that Beata likes him and is trying to meet him. I just wanted to warn you to be careful. She's a femme fatale."

Priscilla sent the message while sitting in a café in her hometown. She had struggled to find a job in Jipsburg, and her history with Martin Group was well- known. After that incident, opportunities were scarce.

So, she returned to her hometown to search for work. Frustrated by the lack of progress, she even tried making short videos online. Surprisingly, it helped her regain some peace and purpose.

When she saw her friends discussing Beata in a group chat, she hesitated but ultimately decided to send the photo to Skylar.

Beata was far more cunning than Priscilla herself. She was also a mixed-race beauty, a rarity around Joe. She had the allure that could make any man lose his mind with a glance.

Perhaps there was also a hint of malice in Priscilla's heart. If she couldn't have something, she didn't want anyone else to succeed either.

But there was another reason. Skylar was the type of person who, once close to someone, couldn't bear to see them suffer.

Maybe it was her conscience speaking. After sending that message, Priscilla didn't say anything more. She knew she shouldn't keep bothering Skylar.

Skylar read the message and promptly set her phone aside. She had more pressing matters to attend to. She dialed Charles' number to check on the progress of the case.

"Charles, is everything under control with this mess?"

Charles said, "We've already found the person who faked the photos. Don't worry. This is just a minor issue."

Skylar sighed in relief. "That's good. Just make sure Thelma is protected."

"After everything that's happened, I realize that the unfairness Thelma has faced over the years is far worse than anything I've gone through. After all, I'm a man. Even if someone dislikes me or has maliciouso intentions, they can't do things like this to me. Plus, I'm happy. I've always had my family and all of you supporting me." Charles truly felt for Thelma now.

After ending the call with Skylar, Charles turned his attention to Clement, who had just rushed back to the studio.

"It's time to release the statement now. The police have already taken Sienna in for questioning," Clement said, smiling.

The way things had escalated, this could have been used to their advantage. If handled properly, Thelma's career could skyrocket, and perhaps he would have another award-winning actress on his hands.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In addition, after getting to know Thelma better, he realized that she not only had acting talent but also the focus and determination to hone her craft.

Charles nodded. "This matter has to be pursued to the fullest. Sienna must pay the highest price for what she's done."

Clement looked at Charles

protectively. "Don't worry. Even if you said to let her off, I wouldn't. Since she dared to pull something like this, I'll use it to boost Thelma's profile. Plus, Sienna will never be able to work in the entertainment industry again. She'll face the legal consequences for her actions.

"You can check the online buzz right now-reporters have caught footage of her being taken by the police. I've already leaked some information and now the trending topic is about Sienna faking photos to frame Thelma."

Charles was pleased with how things were progressing. "That's good. You handle

the rest. I'm leaving now."

As Charles turned to leave, Clement raised an eyebrow and asked, "You're in a hurry to see Thelma, aren't you?"

Charles asked, "What's wrong with that?"

"Nothing at all. Just don't let it affect tomorrow's work," Clement teased.

"Okay."

As Charles left without a second glance, Clement couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia.
