Chapter 1784
chapter1784
That car suddenly ran the red light!
"Charles... Charles..."
At that moment, Skylar pushed the door open and walked in. Hearing Thelma weakly calling Charles' name, she immediately approached and said gently, "Charles is fine too. How are you feeling right now?"
Thelma's eyes were red, filled with anxiety. "Is Charles badly hurt?"
"You both sustained similar injuries. Charles hasn't woken up yet, but don't worry. Do you feel any discomfort right now?" Skylar asked softly.
Thelma, still worried about Charles, recalled how Charles had instinctively grabbed her hand to protect her during the car accident. She shook her head weakly. "I'm fine, just a bit dizzy."
Seeing Skylar's calm demeanor, Thelma felt somewhat reassured that Charles must be okay.
"Don't get too worked up. I'll get the doctor to check on you. The doctor mentioned you might feel dizzy or nauseous because of the concussion, so try to stay calm," Skylar advised.
Thelma nodded softly and closed her eyes, still weak. She wasn't worried about herself. All she cared about was whether Charles was seriously hurt.
If it weren't for her eagerness to return home to retrieve the voice recorder, they might not have encountered the accident. She blamed herself for involving Charles.
Since meeting her, Charles had been dragged into trouble multiple times.
A few minutes later, Skylar returned with a doctor.
The doctor performed a simple checkup, confirmed Thelma's condition, and asked her a few questions, to which she responded coherently. Once reassured, the doctor left.
"When Charles wakes up, can you let me video call him?" Thelma asked
anxiously, desperate to know how Charles was doing. She was terrified something might happen to him.
She would rather have been the one to die in the car accident than have Charles lose his life because of her.
Skylar could see how deeply Thelma blamed herself and worried for Charles Sitting down beside her Skylar said, "I'll tell him as soon as he wakes up. I'm sure he's just as worried about you as you are about him.
"Thelma, the car accident wasn't something you wanted to happen. Please don't blame yourself."
Tears filled Thelma's eyes as she looked at Skylar. "You... You don't blame me? I've caused so much trouble for Charles."
"Of course not. You're the person Charles chose. Since he decided to be with you, he's ready to face all life's ups and downs together with you," Skylar replied.
Tears streamed down Thelma's face. "Charles is the best person I've ever met, and so are all of you."
up
Over an hour later, Charles woke too. Like Thelma, the first thing he did upon waking was to ask about her condition. He finally relaxed after being assured that she was okay.
Neither of them was able to get out of bed yet.
When Thelma saw the bandages on Charles' face, she couldn't stop worrying. "Your face..."
Charles was nonchalant. "It's nothing serious. If there's a scar, I'll just get some cosmetic treatment. Medical technology is advanced now, so it might not even leave a scar."
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this. The drama we were shooting, your work..." Thelma started crying.
Seeing her tears, Charles felt heartbroken. This car accident wasn't something we could control it was an accident! Don't worry about me. Skylar had told Clement our situation. Clement will handle everything. Relax."
Hearing his reassurances, Thelma felt relieved. "That's good to know."
"I have something I want to tell you," Charles suddenly said, his expression turning serious.
