Chapter 1821

chapter1821

Vivian's expression hardened when she heard the word "mistress". However, her anger wasn't directed at Moana but at Hadwin.

Hadwin felt a pang of guilt and avoided Vivian's gaze.

Turning to Moana, he spoke in a cold, detached tone. "I told you a week ago that we were breaking up, didn't I? Vivian only agreed to be my girlfriend today. You'd better watch your language. I've given you everything you deserve. Are you complaining that I didn't pay you enough for the breakup?"

His words struck like a dagger to the heart. Moana's face was visibly drained of color, and the chill in the air seemed to match the tension between them.

Moana had carefully chosen her outfit to flaunt her figure, hoping to catch Hadwin's eye. But instead, he defended Vivian without a second glance at her.

Her eyes burned with anger, but there was also a hint of shame. She turned away briefly, her voice trembling as she asked, "Is she even 18? Hadwin, are you seriously messing around with a teenager?"

Hadwin's face darkened, his voice icy. "Get lost!" He couldn't let Vivian hear such a disgusting accusation.

Vivian felt the need to defend herself. "I've already had my 18th birthday, and I'll be 19 in a few months."

At her age, in Manfred's time, she would have been considered an adult.

Moana flushed with embarrassment, her anger bubbling to the surface. "You're just tired of me and moved on to someone younger! I misjudged you," she shouted. Her voice was cold, seething with rage.

"If you're so high and mighty, return all the money and gifts I gave you!" he snapped. Hadwin knew exactly what kind of woman Moana was. She spoke of morals, but in reality, she was nothing but greedy, always wanting more.

At his words, Moana fell silent. She stomped her foot in frustration, then turned and stormed off.

Watching her leave, Vivian rolled her eyes at Hadwin. "You made me, a newly- turned adult, pretend to be your girlfriend over and over. Hadwin, can you be any more decent?"

Hadwin quickly tried to appease her. "You wouldn't want me to stay with that woman, would you? After just a few days with her, I realized I felt nothing. How could I stay with someone I don't feel anything for?"

Vivian, hearing his smooth words, couldn't help but feel exasperated. "No next time," she said firmly.

"Okay, okay, no next time. Wait for me a moment. I'll take you to lunch." He glanced at the time. It was almost noon.

Vivian declined. "I had a late breakfast, and I'm not hungry yet. I have things to do

in the afternoon, so I'm heading back to school."

"But isn't it summer break?"

"Even though it's summer break, I have a lot of experiments to finish, so not much free time," Vivian replied, already heading to hail a cab.

Hadwin had finally managed to see Vivian, so he wasn't going to let her leave just like that. "Come on, it's just one lunch. My mom's coming over too. I've already booked the restaurant, and I told her you'd join us. You're not giving me any respect, and you're not giving my mom any either?"

Vivian didn't feel like respecting Hadwin's request, but she had a soft spot for Natalie. "Alright, fine," she agreed.

Later, they all had lunch together. During the meal, Natalie kept commenting on how much Vivian had slimmed down. She kept piling food onto her plate and urging her to eat more.

Vivian didn't want to refuse Natalie's kindness, so she ate a little more than usual.

By the time they left the restaurant,

she was feeling stuffed. After

Natalie got into her car and left,

Hadwin glanced at his watch and

said, "It's still early. Let me give you a ride back to school."

"No need, I'll just take a cab to campus."

She was planning to stop by a bakery to pick up a cream cake. Next to the bakery was a shop known for its fettuccine Alfredo, and she thought it would be nice to grab a serving to take to Manfred.

She often craved cake, no matter the mood, and wanted to share it with him.
