Chapter 1847
chapter1847
Paul said gravely, "You're thinking the same thing as I am. I'll arrange to meet with Aiken when the sun comes up. He investigates matters like this the fastest."
Howard nodded. "Should we inform Steven about this?"
Paul said, "Not yet. Let's investigate first. Once we find something, we'll tell him. Right now, Mr. Martin and Mrs. Martin are missing, and we need to protect Vivian at all costs."
Howard sighed. "You're right. We have to protect Vivian, just like Mr. Martin would want us to."
In the kitchen, Tilda was making breakfast when she overheard the conversation from the living room. She couldn't help but smile and shake her head.
If anyone dared to make a move against Vivian, it would be like courting death.
Everyone around Joe and Skylar was doing everything they could to protect Vivian, and she could confidently say that they would go to any lengths to ensure her safety.
These big shots would risk their own lives to guard Vivian, so anyone foolish enough to target her would have no idea what they were up against.
Vivian slept until noon.
When she woke up, she was treated to a freshly made turkey sandwich by Edgar, her favorite.
"Edgar, how come you woke up so early to make these?" Vivian pouted, cuddling up to Edgar.
Edgar chuckled. "I slept just fine last night. I actually slept in until 10:00 am before making breakfast."
Vivian eagerly took a sandwich, savoring every bite. "Edgar, you're the best. Your sandwiches are the best in the world. No one makes them better than you."
Edgar chuckled, beaming with joy. Vivian always knew just how to flatter people with her sweet words.
"Are you staying home today?" Edgar asked.
Vivian thought for a moment. "I'm going to visit my grandmother this afternoon. I might stay the night at her place. I'll go back to school tomorrow night, so don't worry about me."
"You're such a good girl. Just let me
know whenever you come home,
and I'll make sure to cook for
you,"
Edgar said, not wanting Vivian to be alone at home.
The family had once been lively with Joe and Skylar around, filling the house with energy and warmth Now, with only Vivian left at home, Edgar couldn't help but feel @sense of sadness.
Vivian understood Edgar's feelings, so she smiled and nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll listen to you, Edgar."
That day, Edgar had made quite a few sandwiches. After eating two, Vivian found she couldn't eat anymore, especially after drinking a bowl of chicken soup.
"Edgar, should put the remaining sandwiches in the fridge to freeze? That way, when I come home, I can I just heat them." Vivian thought to herself that she might take them with her when she visited Manfred next time.
Edgar nodded. "Alright, I'll put the rest in the fridge."
...
That evening, Vivian didn't stay at Janine's house but returned to Galaxy Villa.
She didn't tell Edgar that she was coming back early.
As soon as she arrived home, she received a call from Aiken.
"Mr. Parkinson," she greeted.
Aiken had been helping her search for Joe and Skylar for the past two years.
The fact that even Aiken couldn't find them meant that Vivian's parents were likely
in a place where no one in this world could reach them.
"How's your schoolwork? Still heavy?" Aiken asked.
"It's been alright. I'm nearly done with everything for now," Vivian replied.
"That's good to hear. In a few days, it will be Simona's birthday. She'd love it if you could come. It's next Saturday. Can you make some time?"
"Ms. Parkinson's birthday is coming up? Sure, I'll be free on Saturday," Vivian immediately agreed.
She liked Simona. Her lively personality made them seem like they were the same age. They often rode motorcycles together, enjoying each other's company.
