Chapter 1906

chapter1906

After stepping inside, Harvey searched every corner of the villa, but Vivian was nowhere to be found. It didn't take long for him to realize she had likely returned to that mysterious world again.

In the group chat, messages from everyone kept coming in, all discussing Vivian.

Concern rippled through the conversations, with many noting how strange she'd been acting lately. Only Harvey knew the truth-her secret and the fact that Skylar and Joe were still alive.

Sitting on the couch, he drafted a message before hitting send. "Don't worry about Vivian. Whatever she's doing, she has her reasons. As her family, our role is simple-stand by her and support her, always."

He believed wholeheartedly that Vivian would bring Skylar and Joe back. Tonight, he would stay here, determined to ensure she wouldn't fall ill again, like the last time he found her collapsed with a fever.

The next day at noon, Vernon personally delivered the copper mirror wrapped in red cloth.

Manfred didn't keep him for long. He sent Vernon back to wait for good news.

"Leave the rest to me. Go handle your work," Vivian said when she saw Manfred still standing nearby.

Since yesterday, except for sleeping, Manfred had been with her. He had so much work to do, and she didn't want to take up his time.

If he worked late again, it would definitely affect his health.

"There's no urgent business lately, and if there is, it can wait," Manfred said, unwilling to leave. He was worried that if he left, even for a moment, Vivian might disappear again.

Despite her assurance she'd stay longer this time, unease gnawed at him.

Besides, work could be done at night or by waking up two hours earlier. There was no need to waste time.

Vivian didn't say anything else and focused on the copper mirror.

Even though it was wrapped in red cloth, she could still feel the coldness emanating from the mirror.

The mirror, imbued with Bonnie's essence for more than two years, radiated an even more potent coldness. Vivian immediately unwrapped the red cloth and began drawing symbols on the mirror.

With each stroke of the symbol, the negative energy on the copper mirror seemed to wane. Manfred felt it too the biting cold that had hit him when the cloth was first removed was now fading.

It took Vivian about 15 minutes to finish drawing the symbols.

She stood still, eyes closed, battling a wave of dizziness. Keeping her eyes shut helped, but not enough.

Manfred noticed immediately.

Rushing to her side, he supported her gently. Moments ago, she'd seemed fine. Now, her face was

alarmingly pale. Panic surged net

through him. "Vivian? Are you

alright?"

He nearly shouted for help, his mind racing to call for a physician, but then he remembered he knew medicine. He reached to check her pulse just as she opened her eyes.

Her voice was faint. "I'm fine. Don't worry. Since I'm not from this world, handling negative items drains me more than it would someone native. I just need to rest for a bit."

The news of her exhaustion visibly affected Manfred. Regret washed over him instantly. Bonnie could suffer her nightmares-if it killed her, so be it. But he couldn't bear to see Vivian like this.

Her health was even more fragile now.

Checking her pulse, he found nothing unusual, which only fueled his frustration. The uncertainty gnawed at him, anger simmering beneath the surface.

That Bonnie deserved to die.
